Except that Mrs May has parked her tanks on the Centre of British Politics and actually taking some 'Left' ideas about social cohesion, mobility and equality.
Not sure its accurate to assume because the new Prime Minister is following the instructions of the British people over Brexit it has all shifted to the right. |

Yes. I agree with you. Tim Fallon is coming across very well. I think they did OK in coalition and were overly punished because of something they really could not do much about. |

Yes. I agree with you. Tim Fallon is coming across very well. I think they did OK in coalition and were overly punished because of something they really could not do much about."
Have to say I agree the LibDems deserved to be treated better by the electorate for their work in Government. But I suspect the EU 'thing' was in people's minds and the Libdems total commitment to the EU didn't chime with the changing politics. Clegg was roundly defeated by Farage and UKIP were taking many Libdem 'protest' voters allowing the Tories to take most of their seats.

I am afraid that they committed party suicide with their coalition and U-turn on tuition fees.
There is no coming back from that for many years.
Supporting Remain is not going to get them much support, either, since the majority of Remainers accept the nation's vote. |

I heard the speech as well just she followed that by appointing a cabinet totally from the right of the party and even kept hunt in health |

Things that she has mentioned about shop floor level employees having seats on boards of companies and binding votes on executive pay are the kind of policies you would expect from a Labour government rather than the Conservatives. |

By definition, the majority of a population is centre ground! Whilst accepting that the centre ground of one country might be more left or right than other.
The centre of the UK is still a lot left of the USA. |

while I agree the USA is well to the Right of the UK I think you can apply definitions of what is 'Centre' to most countries. The USA is clearly either 'Right Wing' or 'Extreme Right Wing' of anywhere ... |

It's hard to know what left and right means these days. They are more free market orientated, but it's not a very conservative country. Most countries are nationalistic these days! |

If the UK goes it will be gone for good. The once in a generation vote maybe true for staying in but not leaving. Leaving is still a big if, as far as I can see. The PM is no fool and she won't sleep walk the country into a catastrophe and have that on her record book.

You realise there are a good number of nations out there that celebrate becoming independent and free from us - and many of those have a very bitter resentment from when we dug our heels in and actively made life hell there. |

Agreed. If May lasts long as PM, and if she has any common sense - once Brexit negotiations are complete and we are in a position to actually leave, she should put the terms of leaving to a public vote.
You know, a vote to say "If we leave here are the terms - we accept free movement of labour in exchange for access to the single market...ect." Then people can vote on whatever deal has been done with the EU and member states. |
