Classic 'Stalking Horse' move. Heseltine did it with Maggie.
Owen isn't much but at least he is better than Corbyn. Sadly it won't make any difference because of Corbynistas in the membership. Cue another political party...
I am a lifelong Tory but its a tragedy how Corbyn's mafia are destroying a once graet Party. |

I think it was Milliband who changed the rules so that you could join for £3 and vote on the leader.
Corbyn claims the credit for increasing the membership.
The LP ranks are now swollen with Corbynites, but they don't seem to understand, that the 60% of Corbyn supporters are not even representative of Labour voters, let alone the electorate.
60% of 500,000 members is still less than 1% of the electorate.
So as long as Corbyn stays head of the party, Labour will never win a general election - is this what true labour supporters and socialists want? |

What will happen if it's 52% to 48%, with all the remainers on the winners side claiming it's a majority vote and hurrah for democracy!?
Or will they say there should be another vote because it wasn't conclusive enough?

Not a labour supporter but the way our democracy works is dependent on a strong opposition to keep the majority party in check.
So while the current woes of the labour party are mildly amusing (equivalent to the Tories when Blair got in) hopefully they will get themelves together after the next election. |

Lifelong Consevative here, even though I came from a truly working class background. Corbyn and his supports have signed the death warrant for Labour Party. We will very soon have the new Labour Party for the nearly sensible to join, and old labour for the nutty CND Corbyn following Venezuelian loving communists |

Doesn't really matter if Corbyn or Owen wins this leadership race. Labour will lose the next general election in 2020 either way. |

The man they really need is too canny to stick his hand up. Hilary Benn would be brilliant in Parliament and damn good against Theresa May but the Corbynistas are on a different planet... |

But don't you know the new rules?
Anything bad/unusual/anomalous/unsettling from now on, is because of brexit.
Anything good/uplifting/positive is because we're still actually in the EU.
Do try and keep up |
