Did you notice that Nazaninzaghari-Ratcliffe, the dual British and Iranian national, is facing new charges of being a British spy?

Iran has spotted the division between the US and UK position towards it.

It's driving a wedge.

How should the UK react?

We, everyone, really, have distanced ourselves from the US pulling out the nuclear accord and giving Iran a 12-point ultimatum or else.

I would say keep the nuclear accord alive along with the eu regardless and be principled.

Treat other countries as you'd expect to be treated.
