If you Want to use the 10 years window of opportunity to reduce the level of global heating increase, it would mean enormous levels of genocide.

If you tax people to have a child I suppose that’s fine. People who want children will go through whatever hardship to have them.
But what about those who don’t pay tax and have quite a few children?
What would have to happen to “control” that issue?
The government getting involved in such a basic human right is dangerous imo

Stop chaves knocking out kids we all pay for ....young girl I know 23 years old 5 kids and pregnant again ...lives in 4 bed council house ...all mod cons and people carrier ...boyfriend supposedly lives with his parents....even though it's my child's friend even she gets the hump .. |

How do you propose that we make this a global tax then, or would some countries simply be able to exempt themselves?
Population decline simply means that eventually a countries tax intake would decrease and everyone left would either have to pay more tax or do without essential services, pensions etc. That's precisely why China dropped the one kid rule, because they're facing a population shortage.

It would take decades to filter through to a vastly reduced population, if some countries reduced family sizes. All children alive will grow and produce over generations to come. If you want a lower population now, that option will not give you it.
The earth can sustain current levels. The lifestyles of many are incoherently against a sustainable planet.
Todays problem is human caused global heating, with less than 10 years to fix this obscene damage to the world that we have caused. It's priority no 1. No 2 is greater care for the rest of the life forms on earth, which dovetails with no 1.
Thinking that global countries will work together to control billions of people's lives, families etc, is too much to ask. Better to get the world to work on repairing damage we've caused and leaving the future better for all types others on the planet.
Immediacy of urgent action is needed. |
