Just wondering if anyone been down?

Every time I've been it's never busy. So total social distancing is easy.

Not really. You can drive anywhere as long as you exercise whilst there for longer. That was the plan and no sex involved.

You are allowed to go out for a walk. If that walk involves a beach thats fine. You just need to social distance for now so if the weathers nice, go there, strip off and have some fun just no touching.

Honestly its not that difficult to understand.

Didn’t you miss last weeks update?

In terms of being able to travel to exercise, the Scottish government now states: “You will also be permitted to travel short distances for outdoor leisure and exercise but advised to stay within a short distance of your local community and travel by walk, wheel and cycle where possible.”

Therefore you would be able to drive to a specific location to exercise, or walk your dog, but you should keep in mind that you are being advised to stay local where possible.

Work isn't exercise/outdoor sports.

Yes, use some discretion and of you have a nice area to walk say 6,7,8.. miles (not 100 miles) away and you can still socially distance then no issue.

Remember the Scottish government stance is still STAY AT HOME (as much as possible).

Boring as that is it's with the aim of saving as many of our lives as possible.

Yes, use some discretion and of you have a nice area to walk say 6,7,8.. miles (not 100 miles) away and you can still socially distance then no issue.

Remember the Scottish government stance is still STAY AT HOME (as much as possible).

Boring as that is it's with the aim of saving as many of our lives as possible."

yep stay at home help close all businesses, make employers bankrupt and have all employees lose their jobs, yep everyone stay home

Yes, able to sunbathe outdoors in open space from Friday. Plus the 5 mile thing is not going to be law-it is guidance. What is the harm in traveling further, especially by car, bringing your own food and wearing gloves and possibly a mask when you need to fill up for petrol? It's not as if there will be road blocks. I don't drive however so I would need to take the train, which I will be doing during off peak times.

There is also no public toilets open and going to the loo in public spaces is not allowed for men or women, it is a sex offence because you're expose yourself.

Stopping anywhere like shop or petrol station can take the virus from one place to another hence the "stay local" part.

I don't think importance is being given to people's need to sunbathe in the nude right now

You've a perfectly good beach at ayr or prestwick

And unless you have friends or family you're meeting with at any other beach because they live in that town, there's really no reason for you to travel

Well saying a man wrote that, men will piss anywhere like a dog.

It'll no be me on the s. register for exposing in public during the day anyhow.

Erm, I expect them to go to Morrison's, it is nearby but doubt their toilet is open right now.

Oh and as your profile states your in ayr, you've got more than one beach there. No need to travel as someone else pointed out.

1. It's a simile, your more likely to find a guy pissing in a close, in a corner, up again a bin etc.

2. Yes, it is a nudist beach but peeing or pooing in a public place (not a public toilet obv) is illegal unless your heavily pregnant (pee), if children see you even on a nudist beach, you'll have a hard time with the cops (the local kids might be utilising the beach at this time with folk not being allowed to travelling as " nude beach tourists". I'd be checking before getting any kit off.

3. Fair enough, many are not.

4. Ahh, but it does. I shouldn't be traveling to loch lomond cos it's further than advised because it means there's more risk of a virus travelling from area to area & causing a second wave. There's plenty of other parks nearby that can be walked or cycled to as well. Plus public transport means more surfaces to be touching.

Gloves move the virus just as your hand does & need disclosed of properly.

Most masks make you touch your face more & aren't effective.

Still, it's your decision/risk.

1- Replace the word 'men' with 'women' on that post and you can't tell me that women wouldn't be up in arms calling that sexist?

2- There are many discreet places there to take a piss in private and with it being a nudist beach there aren't any kids about or near anyway. Have you ever been to this beach? Also, so most people that go camping are breaking the law?

3- So you expect people that are half way up the beach to walk (10-15 minutes) to their car and then drive however long it takes to get to Morrisons to go to the toilet? Could you hold it in that long?

4- I agree about the proper use of gloves being required and in order for the mask to be effective it needs to be fitted and be the correct one, otherwise they are of little use at all. I'm quite sure tho that petrol stations are regularly cleaning the handles etc. Also, if you were to fill up tank full it will easily get you there and back from a reasonable distance away, allowing for many other short essential trips too.

Finally: Yes it is my decision. I will be traveling by train as I do not drive. I will have hand sanitiser too (always had that with me). I will avoid people on the train and not touch rails, etc. I have no symptoms and am in a low risk group. In saying that I have abided by the strict lockdwon rules but phase 1 are not rules regardng travel, it is advice. They are wanting people to be cautious and use common sense. So if my favourite beach is just over the 5 miles and I must use public transport to get there I will, because I guarantee you that any of the beaches further down the coast are going to be mobbed this weekend and is going to be very difficult to socially distance.

3. Morrison's isn't that far & yes you should be able to hold it. On a camping site, yes it is. Out in the wilderness, no, your still expected to cover yourself to prevent exposure to others.

2- Village end isn't nudist. Quad bikers don't give a f*c$ if you're naked or not. You would go up on top of beach wall, like many do, to do your business.

3- What happened to women's small bladders you mentioned? Ardeer is pretty remote and there are even more remote places to go very nearby as above.

4- I've had the same. One staff member brushed right by me the other day. Two other customers near me saw it and were dumbfounded. Heard about many more instances of this too.

You can't go anyway coz you're in Glasgow, that's definitely too far to travel

Just my 2p worth.

Generally there are 6/8 people on a stretch of beach 3 miles long . Seriously, you need binoculars to see the nearest person to you.On busy days there maybe 25/30 at most.

Compare this to Ayr where you can multiply these figures by 50? In less area...I know which is safer. ( btw don’t tell everyone ardeer is empty!)

How far is too far away...

Irvine - 10 mins

Kilmarnock- 20 mins

Glasgow - 35 mins?

Right...totally daft question as I've never been....but are there no signs or anything to alert folk to the fact it's a nudist beach? It's a shame you've went down there to do your thing and enjoy it in a bit of peace and quiet but couldn't fully relax.

I saw no signs but clearly classed as a nudist beach on the website. I still relaxed and enjoyed my day as the beach is huge. I went early enough not to be noticed but did cover up when children were close by.

It’s not an official nudist beach so that’s probably why there are people with their clothes on.

"The beach is stunning and i would recommend everyone to go. The views of Arran today were 2nd to none. Usually being naked on a nudist beach is fine but today i was a bit self conscious due to clothed dog walkers and families.

Right...totally daft question as I've never been....but are there no signs or anything to alert folk to the fact it's a nudist beach? It's a shame you've went down there to do your thing and enjoy it in a bit of peace and quiet but couldn't fully relax."

Cleats shore is the only official naturist beach in scotland. I was always under the impression it was clothing optional rather than you are forced to strip off.

"Maybe they wander along not realising it's a nudist beach. I was completely unaware of it before Fab.

Did it no click that there were an unusual amount of naked people?

Your dick was too small..didn't notice close up....just thought you had a flesh coloured body suit on "

Chilly sea breeze. *shrugs*

You mighta got a better look if yon dog walker hadn't distracted you by enthusiastically praising his bitch for being a good girl.

Yes of course nobody is ever forces to strip off. I go to alot of nudist beaches and always around 75% are naked. This was my third visit to Ardeer and so many more fully clothed today than on my last 2 visits.

I’m not surprised. I think with the amount it gets discussed on here people mix up naturists and swingers and it attracts people who want to go down for a wee look hoping to get lucky.

I was there yesterday and was well into the naturist section, and only seen one other person who stripped off, aside from myself and the girl I was with. There was even a guy seemingly oblivious to the fact he was on a beach and it was 25 degrees, he was so ridiculously over-clothed.

According to the cps, there is no offence committed until you outrage public decency- and before you mention Scottish law, it’s the same law in Scotland.

What your looking for is contravention of section 5 of public order offence 1982.

The other section where you may fall foul of the law is under section 66 of the sexual offences act 2003. But it would have to be proved that the intention was to cause alarm or indecency.

To lie on ANY beach in the uk is not an offence till you break either of these acts.

Just a daft question from a daft laddie..

On the presumption there are nudists on the beach.

Do people go to Ardeer Beach in hope of seeing others naked and having fun..or do people attend for the liberating part.

Having been at the beach on Saturday and seeing families which is a first I imagine this was folk local to the beach knowing it would be quiet as car parks closed at present .....a few years ago on beach we were advised by folk from the Naturist Society?? Don't quite me on it that it's a recognised nudist beach and as stated you walk a fair bit to reach a safe enough distance where no one will bother you if you strip off. ... But be mindful that folk walk along the beach from further along the coast who will be fully clothed and the occasional dog walker .....it was great to be able to chill on the beach with no one ...except company I was in nearby so definitely not flouting any restrictions

Train is handy but it's a walk there and back. Fingers crossed i get down before the summer is over. Message me if you are.
