Hi. Always wanted to stay in a castle. So thought i'd take family for a couple of nights now lockdown has lifted somewhat. Wondering if anyone has been to one and any recommendations (or even ones to avoid).

Cheers

Both Fonab Castle Hotel (just outside Pitlochry) and "The Torridon" (Wester Ross)

are both excellent, both are 5 star and what you would expect from a 5 star location with room and dining.

Barony Castle Hotel near Peebles is lovely. Polish Army officers stationed there during the war. Good walks and great wee pub at the end of the drive
