Hi, I’m heading to Glasgow next weekend (February 6-7). I will be working in the G69 area and was wondering if any locals have any recommendations for hotels in the area or near? I’ll be alone so ideally somewhere with room service (so I can have a drink or two if I cba finding an off licence) and somewhere nearby to get food from?

Out of curiosity, why haven't you already got your accommodation sorted?

Glasgow

Most hotels in Glasgow are asking for proof of essential travel (e.g employer letter) & might turn you away if you don't have it. You would be best checking any hotel website or contact them directly.

I was awaiting confirmation from the job and also was waiting to see if anything changed with lockdown rules

Hi its not far from Glasgow about 10 - 15 minutes away depending on traffic. If you keep going on the M8 just past Baillieston there are some hotels at Eurocentral. In Baillieston there is a Lidl , Morrison's etc so plenty of places buy alcohol!

The village hotel in the south of the city is open a bit further but close to the motorway so you will be where you want to go in 15 minutes. the rooms are nice and the room service is great, it’s next to the river so you can get out and about for a walk at least not stuck indoors.

there are parts Glasgow but even those parts are closer to nl I'm only trying to save the op extra miles.

Op use full postcode and find the exact area if it was normal times I'd always say use the town centre as lots to do but right now nothing is open so less travel would be better and room rates are cheaper outside of glasgow. There loads of hotels so best to pick what suits you

Thanks yeah I’ve put the full postcode in and 2 premier inns are close by so think I’ll stop at one of those but just decide which is closest to most stuff.

I looked online but thought locals knowledge would be better as didn’t want to be in the middle of nowhere

Sadly as much as I’d love a meet I think it would be pretty hard for one
