Warmish Wild Swimming.

Edinburgh / Stirlingshire / Glasgow-ish

Just recently dripped our toes in to wild swimming and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on nice little spots.

Ideally not too far from a train station as we train and bike to most places.

There is a wild swimming facebook group. Won’t say mine as you’ll probably figure out who I am on that group otherwise

We have a few spots around Fife but car would be best for accessing. The Facebook groups are best to share info and find out about things in the community such as what spots have blue green algae etc

Stay in the shallows. Death rates from wild swimming in Scottish Lochs are through the roof just now. 6 dead just at the weekend. Lochs get very deep... very quickly... and plummetting temperatures out of the shallows.

I wear a wet suit particularly in the deep lochs, it might seem hot but water can be freezing

Been looking in to suits but definitely sticking to shallow waters for the time being.

I’d maybe look into floatation aids. Think they tether to your ankle. Not expensive but can’t really put a price on your life
