I’m loving this post. I saw 8 police on motors on Thursday and another 6 at the RAH in Paisley. Looked as if they were just doing a recce.

They’ve had an extra year to get prepared and still they aren’t organised.

Apparantly if police take you to hospital, like the ambulance crew ,they have to stay with you until your treated.

NAH, it'll be fine. We can all calm down now that the wee gobby Scandanavia teenager has landed.

Apparently climate change is all the UK's fault, for starting the Industrial Revolution. The likes of China and India must be pissing themselves.

My students lecturers have all been returned to digital over the next 2 weeks and God forbid anyone in Glasgow needs assistance from the emergency services.

A strangely optimistic post, are you living in the same world as everybody else?

I'm sorry, but planes/private jets, cruise ships, police in diesel powered vans from all over the UK, including Wales and even Devon and Cornwall.

Climate change?? Aye rite, the usual talking shop while the worst offenders aren't even attending!!

Another downside to COP26 that a lot of people haven’t realised is the police officers being put out of tulliallan early because of the number of officers being sent to Glasgow. I had to call the police last week for an incident and 2 officers turned up. Only one of them could take statements and actually do anything because the other wasn’t actually allowed to do anything because she was one of the ones sent out early to beef up numbers but hadn’t actually finished training

And there we have the proof that nothing will change as they open the fields, Sturgeon has no control over the licences and has already written to Johnson stating the need to start getting away from oil and gas. Meanwhile Johnson who lets not forget flew home from the summit by private jet because he had dinner to go to is turning his head away from the proposed new coal mine while the owners are saying It will be clean coal It all points to doing nothing once again after doing nothing after the last 25 cop summits. I am no lover of Sturgeon either.

This is why there's so many protests kicking off, we know they are hypocrites (and yes I was at some of the protests).

They were overriding the projector last night

Theres 503 delegates aligned to fossil fuels & 100 fossil fuel companies there. More than all the delegates from the 8 worst affected & alot of indigenous kept out who are the ones who are always hardest hit despite doing the least damage.

In may this year a Canadian company went into Brazil to illegal mine for gold & killed 16! (last gov recognised land as indigenous lands, this one doesn't care)

Truedau refuses to force Mountie to investigate the near 5500k of native women who've went missing (trucker roads mainly)

UK plans to open coal mine & drill new oil well

Yup doing well. Best thing we can do is use consumer power by putting our money with companies who hold those climate values true, pensions & banks are one of the largest areas feeding fossil fuel..so much difference can be made if everyone insisted on them being invested in clean energies, tech & companies.

Best thing we can do is use consumer power by putting our money with companies who hold those climate values true, pensions & banks are one of the largest areas feeding fossil fuel..so much difference can be made if everyone insisted on them being invested in clean energies, tech & companies.

Lmao, your opening line on your profile says your looking for car fun .

Whether diesel, petrol or electric clearly your fun supercedes saving the planet by NOT using your car for it. You just lost your blah blah blah credibility .

Seriously the forums crack me up at times. yup the thunberg of this world believe their carbon footprint don't count cause they shout loudest"

The loudest shouters are by far the fossil fuel mining companies who spend hundreds of millions yearly re-writing the narrative on climate change.

These are the people not 10 years ago telling us...There is no climate change its just the natural cycle of the earth.

Thier allegencies are not to you or I but to thier sharholders, investors and ultimiltly their own bank balance.

But hey you go on ridiculing people for trying their best and they can go on living their billionaire lifestyle.

Just do not be looking for a penny out their pocket...then they will turn their media army on you.

Edinburgh

For those that live or work in Glasgow is it still super busy and a hassle to get around because of COP26?

Asking for my girlfriend, as she's away to Glasgow city centre tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you.

Mandy

The UN pays, though Glasgow does get unprecidented income through hospitality etc.
