Our work isn't having one this year again. They said it's down to covid and worker's not wanting to socialise in a large crowd. Funny how no one can remember being asked their opinion lol xx

Yip same here.

And their reasoning is that if we all catch covid we’re all gonna be off work at the same time!

Like that’s ever gonna happen!

I’ve seen households where one gets it but the rest of them are fine. There’s no rhythm or reason.

I have seen household where everyone has been infected. In fact, in the majority of cases I know, more than one person has caught it. The exceptions are kids where both parents are double vaccinated...

Weddings are good examples of how covid transmits when people are partying closely...I know of one wedding where 1 passed it on to about 10 others who had symptoms..I wonder how many weren't symptomatic?!

Kids aren’t an exception! All 3 of mine had covid and I never.

As J4 says, no rhyme or reason.

I was refering to specific situations that I am aware of where the kids were the exception....

Covid is a coronavirus and prior exposure to another coronavirus in your life may have given YOUR immune system exposure to something similar and therefore it has an advantage against Covid.

Anyway, point is simple. People should avoid anecdotal evidence especially when it contradicts the real evidence.

People mixing in a party environment with music and closer proximity than normal is simply asking for trouble.

Yep I caught it from my youngest and I'm double vaxxed, but then the other kid who lives at home never got it. No sense to it at all.

Any parent is going to come into close contact with their child when ill so exposure is extremely likely. Being double vaxed doesn't make you immune and stop you from catching it. It reduces the severity of the illness and REDUCES the chance of catching it. For a small minority it doesn't absolutely nothing.

As for the other child, my guess is that they kept their distance or , this demonstrates what we already know, it doesn't affect kids as much as adult.

Not sure how given the above facts your situation makes no sense.
