"What distance does the cycle ride cover?
It was just about 6 miles, nice route covering all the tourist spots! I'm sure we will be on plenty people's holiday photos! "

I'll be working in my bike shop that day....
Anyone attending feel free to pop in... and I'll give your bike a free quickie.
I'll even rope in my colleague who's oblivious I'm on here.

After hearing some sad news about a family member, I'm using this year's naked bike ride as a platform to raise money for Cancer Research UK and have set up a Just Giving page.
I know that's not what the bike ride is about but I don't really care and anyone that thinks I'm wrong in doing this doesn't matter! |

Great day out on Saturday cycling naked through the capital (and raised over £400 for Cancer Research UK at the same time.)
Recommend anyone interested to come along next year, response from locals and tourists was overwhelmingly positive! |

We went a couple years ago but didn't manage last year due to work.
Put us off the Scottish one a bit now that some people wearing clothes and dressing up more than embracing the nakedness and idea of being seen like that. Vulnerable and exposed as a cyclist.
Seemed like some of the costumes were more sexulised.
Think in future we're more likely to head to one down south or abroad where more people are willing to bear all. |

I had a look at the FB Group last night, and one of their requests this year is that nobody has any genital piercings on show, as they're seen as too sexual.
I was only on the page to see the route and times, as I'll be near the Meadows at one point on Saturday and wanted to see if there was any crossover. |

Maybe yes, that's a fair point but also much more going naked.
We too often see people in nudist places, beaches, Cap d'agde, are covering up now and it just starts to get to us a bit.
We would rather be involved in a nudist event that was actually nude highlighting vulnerability.
Seeing the pics from last year some wear wearing huge colourful pants and swimwear more than what alot of people would wear at a normal beach or swimming pools even.
We did enjoy the Edinburgh one we went to previously, plenty can be done with body paint.
We would be less comfortable joining in were it turns out we are one of the few fully naked, and would not want to compromise by wearing clothes.

Totally agree it would be better if everyone was naked.
I think there's some won't go fully naked because there's not enough naked people there. And if people that want to be naked don't go because some aren't already doing it then it's never going to get to a stage where more people embrace the naked aspect and make the event/protest what it should be.
I'll be there and naked regardless of what anyone else decides. |
