Inspired by another thread on here about men fancying older women.
What's the general consensus on older men dating or even just having sex with considerably younger women? Half his age for example.
Does it make you feel uncomfortable? If so why?
Or is everything on the table between consenting adults? |

Achh takes all sorts. To be honest though it just doesn't look right.
I've nothing against a big age difference either way or sex, however I was in a restaurant the other week. Lassie must have been about 24 all glammed up looking good and the guy was probably mid-50s. Now I've no ruck with that in general, my ruck is a mid-50s guy trying to dress like a 24 year old.
Invariably it manifests itself in a paisley pattern shirt, dress jacket, jeans and new white trainers.
If he has hair it will be gelled to the Nth degree.
Plus what do they talk about ...Jezee Kanye...Dave.

It's not something I'd consider. The ego boost would be good but that's all it would be good for,in my opinion.
I know a couple with a big age difference and they are happy and it works for them.
I kids older and I can imagine what they would say if I was with someone younger than them.

Well i have to say when i was younger it was older women i was into. yet as i get older my lower age range has dropped some what and consider the person more than their age as a reason for seeing them

everyone differs as long as it’s safe and consensual it shouldn’t be an issue. however people with children etc wouldn’t usually go lower than the age of them.
i like older men, probably wouldn’t date a man older than my dad tho. everyone has a reason for and against the age gap. |

It doesn't make me uncomfortable, we all like different things and I try not to judge.
Even if the typical stereotypes are in play that's up to them, as long as everyone's happy then it's really none of my business. |

On a meet then not normally, as long as it's safe, sane & consensual. For longer term relationships, sexual or romantic, it all depends on the power dynamics & any predatory behaviour that's present. It can be a real cause for concern.
I personally don't normally go older than my parents when swinging, but my age restrictions on fab are much tighter to cut down on the creepy messages.

This... I used to worked with a girl who met her soul mate in her twenties, he was thirty years older. They had two children and a blissfully happy relationship but yes she was a young a widow and his children were relatively young when he died. Would any of them change a moment of that... no they would not, she regrets not a jot of what they had. The Heart does indeed want what the Heart wants x

It totally depends on the people involved, and for me how they met.
My late husband was 16 years older than me. I was 22, him 38. We met through a sport. Similar friend group. Similar place in life with regards to study, work, ambition, family and the likes. I was old before my time, I lived alone and was a “proper” adult. You couldn’t really tell the age difference.
A friend of mine met a guy 15 years older than her at a similar age. She was very, very young for her age. She was at college, never had a job, had never been away for a weekend or holiday without parents, her mum did all her washing, made her meals etc. He worked in the college, had responsibilities, already had children etc. The imbalance was quite uncomfortable for a lot of people, and it wasn’t overly surprising when he turned out to be a controlling arsehole. |

If it's purely about physical attraction then there needn't be an issue. My daughter goes out with a man older than me.
However, I think there needs to be a level of mutual maturity. No matter how physically mature someone considerably younger might be, they're not necessarily well rounded, open minded with mature and non self-centred attitudes. I would never want a sexual relationship with anyone like that. Surely there needs to be some equivalence.

Totally agree with porn more accessible to younger people it is porn educated young people both male and female. Us older people when younger had to fumble or way about. I prefer mature women but each to there own. |

It came to my attention that one of my daughters work friends had a crush on me. She didn’t know who I was until my daughter heard her talking about me. She’s half my age and beautiful, fun and seems mature. If it hadn’t been for my daughter being friends with her I’ve have taken her out. I think it comes down to the person rather than the age tbh. |

Totally agree with porn more accessible to younger people it is porn educated young people both male and female. Us older people when younger had to fumble or way about. I prefer mature women but each to there own."

I have two couples who are friends where there is a 20 year age difference. She’s 45 and he’s 65. I’m quite sure if I’d said 20 and 40 it would be more shocking.
Why are we so hungry up about ages? I won’t meet people who are the same age as my kids but that’s a personal choice.

I think it’s just they way things are viewed .
Ie older men dating or having sex with younger women are mainly classed as dirty old men where an older woman dating or having sex with younger men are classed as sexy cougars  |

Before the first lockdown I used to see a girl 42 which is 22years younger than me
We used to meet once a week for fun but her boyfriend found out and we had to stopped.
