It’s bad ,but, growing up and living here , I’ve kind of taken it for granted. Not been for a few years, maybe just a drink at someone venues .
Used to love a random show at the Pleasance Courtyard, saw John Bishop there for about £4 when he was starting out , me and about 15 other people 😂

We have a few things booked this year for a few days as we have never actually gotten around to it before!
Some sexy Burlesque is def at the top of the list (self confessed perv here  )
Also doing Trainspotting and a few others.

I'm heading up for the first time and really looking forward to it. I've booked a couple of comedy shows I want to see but I've also downloaded the app and added events to my planner to see what I fancy on the day too! |

The apps the best way, I never plan it, depends on weather if it's sunny etc end up in the gardens, streets till evening time. If it's raining make the most of the shows all day. Hope you enjoy Edinburgh. |

Thank you! That's the way I've heard about it being done which goes against my natural "planning" instinct 😂 but I'm looking forward to seeing what the vibe is like when walking around. |

We usually stay over a couple of nights to enjoy 3 full days, we booked the Sheraton Grand back in January with a confirmed price and we looked at the booking last week and price went up by £74
We called the hotel and they explained that it was due to newly introduced City Tax (tourist tax)
We cancelled simply due to principal and refuse to pay a tax to the incompetent Edinburgh Council.
Enjoy the fringe this year, but we are boycotting. |

I haven't spend that much last few years attending, though we tend to book last minute free shows now and put in a donation. They've been full of wonderful, (good) wierd and extremely funny shows! Always meet the wackiest of lovley people from all over the world in the cues. We've never stayed over since covid due to the price hikes with hotels. But we get the last train home instead. Always a fantastic day out! |

We are going to see Stevie nicks and Phil Colin’s tribute. Frisky reshuffle which is great. Connor burns and Stuart Mitchell. Best of the fest late night comedy and ladyboys so far. We spend a lot of time in Edinburgh over the next month then we are staying over the 22nd. If anyone is up for meet, social drinks and a laugh feel free to give us a shout |

Like others, ai also take it for granted and for the most part I try to stay away but I do like to go in and soak in the atmosphere now and again and I tend to at least once take the kids and see the street performers. |

The app is easier than the book but not by much and esp if you don’t know Edinburgh! Went a couple years back with a fab friend and we’d booked 2 shows one after the other kinda opposite ends of city! App needs to be better I think but will check it out later as not looked this year yet |

I've had a look and it seems like it would only be useful in real time once you're there rather than if you wanted to plan in advance 🤔 |

I have a heap of theatre shows booked over the month. Friends in shows and things that sparked intrigued. In between I may take an odd relaxing break at Steamworks. Be lovely to see some lovely bi fab folk around. Xx |

Can't recommend SPANK enough. It's normally in the udderbelly at 12:30. Half time they get someone naked on stage for a couple of beers.
It's a class comedy night. It's always different. Dark sense of humour required.

We are heading in tomorrow lunchtime for a day of wandering about seeing the free shows then few shows booked later at night. If anyone around tomorrow for a wee social meet and maybe a wee drink give us a shout |

Am in Glasgow for work tomorrow … but skivving off to Edinburgh for the festival over Mon and Tues … have tickets for a few including Darkfields Coma installation / Dracula - Lucy’s Dream / Pink Rabbit / Mother, Maiden and Crone … also hoping to see the Haunted Magician as well. Let me know if you want to meet up for a coffee and a chat (in between shows lol) |

The app can be a bit flakey. I still like the old school fringe guide to plan things out. But if you’re out and about then if you go with the flow there will definitely be shows at the main venues.
Worst case scenario, just ask the jokers and the clowns! |

Hoping to get a chance to catch Stamptown. Looks chaotic.
Going through tomorrow for a couple of shows including IN BED WITH…which is a show where guests discuss their dating and sex lives. See if anyone has some interesting kinks. |

I'd say if you have time take a walk about and see the posters because they give great inspiration.
There's also the free fringe app that has tons of shows you pay a tip rather than ticket if you find a free hour.
There's a lot of adult magic and variety acts on this year.
It's just a shame having to head back to Glasgow you miss the 10pm - midnight shows, if anyone has a spare sofa or bed during the Festival I'd take it lol |

Yesterday afternoon we saw Crime Scene Improvisation and it was hilarious! Major audience participation. We then went on to the Black Blues Brothers which was amazing and had a great sound track!
Back again on Saturday for a full day with friends! |

Hubby working away all week. We had been planing a visit in to the fringe this week. Shame to miss out so Helen is looking for social company / date to go visit Edinburgh fringe and a few drinks. Maybe go see a show or 2, Anyone up for a wee date night and some social laughs and flirting feel free to get in touch |
