I've been using my C-Card for a few months now, simply hand it over at most chemists and they give you a bag of free condoms and another card to use again , are there many guys out there doing the same ? |

Is there a reason you don't buy them? |

"I'm daft I think.....how are you getting them?"
Sorry, your FIRST card should be found lying on the counter next to the till at the pharmacy, pick it up and select VARIETY as your first choice |

The point of them being free is " prevention is better than the cure" and it does save money for NHS or they would not be free.
In the same thread, do those who say " I buy mine" do you then refuse your free NHS services and go private ??????? Just a thought. |

The C-Cards were handy in Uni otherwise I would have had to leave due to parenting commitments

If someone genuinely cant afford them then they should be free for prevention, people that can afford them should pay for them.
Those that can afford to pay for them and don't are robbing the Scottish National Health Service !!!! |

I cant agree more , unwanted pregnancies and sti's should be avoided at all cost.Where I disagree is if a person can afford condoms then they should pay for them. I pay my national insurance along with countless millions of others and still have a wee bit left over to put my had in my pocket to buy condoms. The NHS is not an finite resource, the highest prescriptions are for headache tablets and heartburn relief so I feel the same about those items. |

" and where do you draw the line headaches and heartburn can be signs of much more serious underlying conditions so by always paying for these items health checks may be missed that could save money or lives in the extreme as can free condoms if everyone used them there would be less need to pay to treat pelvic inflammatory disease HIV aids infertility and pages of other diseases including everyone's favorite blue waffle disease |

Read all the comments. Bottom line this service is available. If you don't use it then the public loss it. Its there for a reason. If free Condoms save std. unwanted pregnancy. Then it can only be a positive step. |

When you need a prescription do you offer to pay for it or do you happily accept it FOC?
I'm about to have some medical investigations done privately, I also had some treatments earlier this year so I've saved and will save the NHS in the region of a thousand pounds, if not more, so the money I'm saving the NHS can I get free condoms instead? |
