Hi all I've had one for a few years now but I've never really took good care of it . I have it trimmed regularly but I've never put any balms / moisturiser on it . Any tips would be gratefully appreciated

Just watch with some oils, I use Jamaican castor oil, nice and thick.

Beard oil to moisturise the hair and skin, balm to shape and style it. Get yourself a stiff boar hair brush to keep it untangled. Find a good barber to give it a regular trim. I find that much easier than faffing about with scissors.

Jojoba oil is a good starting point. It's the closest to your own natural oil.

A beard brush and some good beard oil/ balm for a few weeks. Then decide what to do with it.

Make sure you get a good sls free beard wash as normal shampoos completely strip your beard. The either balm or oil depending on length.

With a longer beard I tend to use balm in the morning for moisturising and styling and oil in the evenings when I’m not bothered about how it looks.

I use Bedfordshire beard co
