I forgot my COVID mask... Can anyone tell me if I have to have it before getting on bus from Alicante airport to Benidorm. When I was there 6 months ago, they were very strict about wearing masks. Is it still the case?

We were told to wear a mask by the driver, half the people didn't bother. He then drove with a mask on his chin. Maybe put a t-shirt over your mouth until you sit down, you'll be fine

It is still compulsory, you will be stopped from getting on.

Thank you for your replies. I'll buy on the way. If I miss my bus, I'll have to wait 1 hour. So, it makes sense to buy it

You can tell that I'm not using public transport...

A tip from me, there is a machine next to pharmacy which charges you 1.50 euro. But inside you'll pay for the same mask 1.10 euro. I know it's not a big deal. But I didn't have spare cash. Hence, I had to buy in pharmacy

Mine broke as I was putting it on to get on the bus in PDI. The driver had a box of them for anyone who didn't have one. This was in August.

So you have to wear a mask on the bus, taxis, even the yellow submarine, (although lots of people take them off once actually on the bus) but it's fine to go to a packed bar or get right up and personal at swingers clubs, no masks in packed supermarkets, shops etc.

Clever virus this, it obviously only goes on public transport, nowhere else.

Wearing mask in Spain is only mandatory mainly at public transport, Chemistries or health services.
