I heard there was a good band on at the Crown on Friday night. Classic heavy rock. A couple of the band members had been with well-known bands in the past. I am not sure what that said about them or about the Crown, but hey who cares. Good free music and decent beer. Just the way to round off the week nicely.
Friday night came around and I set out for the pub. The place did have a reputation for attracting the sluttier element of women in the town. I had no problem with that. It was good to see leather and latex clad women with heavy makeup and tattoos dancing wildly. There were nearly always one or two who had too much to drink and ended up dancing with their tits half out. I certainly had no problem with that. I love to see a slutty woman having fun.
The place was packed when I got there and the support band were on already. I seriously considered going somewhere else for a while as they were crap.
There was the usual rowdy crowd in at the bar. All the older guys from around the town sitting in a group in the corner. I spotted several of my mates over near the stage so I made my way over. They made space for me at the table. We were an inconspicuous bunch of music enthusiasts in amongst the gawdy "Heavy Rock crew" Most of us play something - to varying degrees of ability and several of us have been in bands.
We generally agreed that the support act was crap, but the consensus was to stay - for two reasons. Firstly we had a good spot which we would undoubtedly lose if we went away to return later. Secondly there were four "Rock chicks" already showing some attention.
