Sorry to be a bit of a party-pooper but if it's true it's completely wrong...
ANYONE could have walked in on you and more than likely called the police, if not they would definitely complain to a member of staff who would have done so.
You're not outdoors of a night time in a known dogging/cottaging area but in a public building probably owned by a company or the council, they wouldn't let you get away with it. You would get charged for indecency.
