Hey all

Not sure if this is the right place/section to ask this. 1st time posting in the forums.

We just wanted to ask a question and look for recommendations for hotels around the london/Kent area to book that isn't going to cost the earth so we can arrange a meet with a like minded person. We stayed at a chain hotel near Thurrock and mid way through playtime we were intrupted by hotel staff wanting our guest to leave. We cannot host at home and dont feel comfortable with someone elses home. Literally 30 minutes into them stepping into the room knock knock at the door and the hotel staff asking our guest to leave. We really want to avoid that happing again so please any recommendations would be appreciated.

OP, sorry that happened to you, but my question is, how did the hotel staff know you had visitors in your room? Yes, most hotels have got a policy about only paying guests staying in the hotel after certain time, but I have never heard of staff knocking on the door. Most likely someone complained to the hotel staff.

Sorry, can't give you any particular recommendations, but from what I'm aware of, most hotel staff don't give a fuck, as long as you're discreet and not overly noisy. Maybe look for hotels that have a bar? So you can meet your friends at the bar area and take them to your room? I have also heard of the key card being hidden in a safe location that was disclosed to the people coming in so they could pick it up and just walk in? Or, as you're a couple, one of you meets your friends at the car park and just casually walks them in?

I've always used Premier Inn. Both with our couples account and my solo.

Never had any issues in 4 years.

Look at air b&b. You can book a whole flat for around the price of a good hotel room

- Premier In are quite good and the walls are verry sound proof. Avoid hotels with dodgy wood doors so everyone can hear true the door. Must of be someone perving on you outside of the door or something. Or some jelous staff noticed what's going on and recognised from fab with can be happen 🤷

Wow I am shocked this happened. We would have been making a formal complaint.
