Hello people,

I'm relatively new here and finding my feet. I've photo verified myself. I've launched, for want of a better word (perhaps thrown, in hindsight) into the scene and have tried my best to engage honestly as a newbie. I've had a few people that have been kind to graciously respond and give me guidance. What's kicked me in the goolies, is being blocked after a healthy chat, without any explanation. Surely we all benefit from constructive feedback? Or am I just expecting too much?

Grateful for your words of wisdom.

👍

You're not owed an explanation. Not everyone wants to give feedback. Not everyone wants to receive feedback.

That's a valid point. I'd like to do better if I'm doing something wrong. It's not second nature engaging on here.

You have to consider that it's not necessarily because you're doing anything wrong. The majority of people aren't compatible with each other. If you acted on feedback from everyone you engaged with you'd tie yourself up in knots. You can't be everything to all people. Be yourself and own it.

That said, self reflection is important and if there's a recurring theme causing people to disengage then you might want to learn from that

Just move on from those who choose to end an interaction.

There's plenty of people happy to chat, exchange views and opinions even if they are nowhere near you and you're not likely to meet. There is still so much to enjoy and learn from. x Lo x

Thank you for taking the time to reply. It's only happened once. I'll not fuss over it too much. 👍

People block because they no longer want to engage in conversation with you and it's easier than explaining why. Nobody is compatible with everyone and unless you're being downright rude or unkind (which I doubt ) feedback of 'you're not my type' or similar isn't helpful.

If you're going to stick around you'll need to get used to being blocked and ignored. It's not pleasant but it's the reality of life on fab. However if anyone is abusive report them

As said above op, people block for various reasons.

You have to chat with someone a bit, to know if there's compatibility. They maybe decided there wasn't. Or you said something that they didn't like /wasn't for them.

It's easier to block for many, as some people can get quite abusive if you say no thanks or I've changed my mind etc.

It does happen here a fair bit.

Even more crippling when you’ve had a nice chat and then they ask for a face picture and immediately block after opening it 🫠🫠 it’s not what’s inside that counts

That scenario can be for a number of reasons. Maybe they recognise you, or you arent what they are looking for. I have rejected people because they looked to similar to my abusive ex.

Dont read too much into it. You weren't compatible, so no point meeting.

People block for a reason. I don't know why they blocked you but their will be a reason. It may be something you said that put them off you.

It happens, move on, forget.

Just remember that Fab is a microcosm of society, so you will get a full spectrum of people on here, so some will not think the same as you or work to the same principles, or understanding

I think the word crippling is not righf in thd context you are posting.

Whether someone one blockz you at anytime and do nof gjve reason it is simply a choice they wanted to make and something that happens you just need to not take personal

I wouldn’t worry about it . I’ve had people send me messages, only to discover they’ve blocked me before I’ve even had a chance to open and read it !

Doesn't matter cant block distances

People block for several reasons

-- You don't read their profile so aren't compatible yet have messaged

-- You ask for a face picture and are 500 miles away

-- Your own profile is blank

-- Your profile has lies/contradictions

-- your messages are a cut and paste bulk job

As most people are not mutually compatible with most other people, it's got to be a realistic expectation to expect dead ends almost all of the time. What might seem golden starts will be cup de sacs and we should expect this.

As a swinging site open to all, there's not an official welcome party to make it only comfortable, which you will get in a swinging club, which this site supplements well. Join the scene, rather than an internet site for the full experience

But remember that single men outnumber the rest and people only want those who are a full match and they won't compromise on it
