Dislike of tattoos

Am I on my own when I say I really don’t like tattoos, I seem to be in the minority.

I think of when we’re all old and in the local nursing home covered in faded inks, doesn’t hold any appeal to me at all.

Before you fans of ink start ranting I’m not judgemental, just my opinion.

Don’t mind the single tattoo as sometimes looks really sexy and intriguing

I've had many nasty messages about my tattoos so there are definitely a fair few people out there who don't like them lol.

I've no preference either way personally. It's certainly not something that would put me off meeting someone. I appreciate both inked and un-inked skin.

I've come across some rather funny/embarrassing tattoos on people over the years. And met a fair few people who regret their tattoo choices.

I'm not at all offended if people don't like my ink. Only I have to really. We all have our preferences

Tend to agree with the OP. If someone has a gorgeous tattooed body we tend to like it despite the tattoos rather than because of them.

I'm not a lover of Tattoos but most of the people I know have them. I like wearing ladies clothes, they like wearing tattoos. We're all strange and different.

Some I like, some I don't...it depends on the person and the tattoo(s).

I'm not a particular fan of neck and hand tattoos, or ones on women's breasts, but it's all down to personal taste.

Each to their own OP, us inky girls can't be for everyone,vthe same way that we all have a body type or attributes we do go for, you're allowed to have a preference, I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people who prefer partners without. Xx

Tattoos are a way to express someone's creativity, individuality and personality.

It isn't for you to like or not, it's for them.

My wife has a lot of tattoos and I like them but it's not for me to like them, she got them all for herself.

You could have turned down a number of really decent people over their skin art

You guys have an age filter of 21-55 so you could be turning down a number of really decent people over their age...

I think there's a porn star with "anal slut" or something along those lines, tattooed all over her bum cheeks.

I work in care and have wiped many bottoms. The first thing I thought when I saw her ass was "gosh imagen what the carer will think when she sees that" on her 90 year old bum!

I have tattoos and they all mean something different-im not a fan of the random "just because" type tattoos. But if theyr done nicely and suit the person I enjoy them. X

I’m glad this thread has been created, it makes a difference to always seeing those that are celebrating their own or other’s work.

My opinion is it’s a fad now, I really admired those who inked themselves in the past, as they were the minority bikers, criminals or in the forces it said I’m different even a bit dangerous.

But now it’s been watered down, everyone from a midwife to a police officer or even MP’s have them. Once your Granny has a full sleeve it’s not radical anymore it’s part of the mainstream.

Just seems odd...we all have preferences, and find different things appealing, nowt wrong with that! I just have never felt the need to announce things I'm not attracted to, what's the point other than to be negative?

I certainly don’t have an issue with tattoos or think they’re ugly, quite the opposite, some of the work I’ve seen can be amazing.

But as an ex forces and biker I often get asked why ‘I haven’t inked up yet ?’ as if it’s a something I should do. The irony with me is if they weren’t popular I’d probably have one as they are, I’m less keen

I have 2 tattoos at present I do want more. All my tattoos will all have meanings. They make up who I am. Personally I love people who have tattoos but would I meet a person who hasn't got any sure I would as its all about the personality with me not whether they have tattoos or the size of their wanger

Attraction isn't really about ticking boxes for me, there is more to it. Just have to get on. I've seen some beautiful tattoos.

You are perfectly entitled to your own opinion and I respect that.

As a lady with ink I chose to mark my body and I am extremely happy with the results and will be adding to my collection.

I want to live to a good old age, be that lady in the nursing home who has faded ink and all her facalties with people asking me of the meanings to my ink and my life history of my tattoo experience compared to those of the current time.

To get to that age, to be of clear mind, to have my loved ones visit me is more important than any concern over my inked wrinkly body... which btw will make me smile with my memories etched for all to see that I lived my life the way I wanted.

My father had tattoos, the first being from one of his stretches in a borstal in the 1950s. Had several others up and down his arm including a skull with a knife through its eye. Some classic tattoos from his life of being on the mean streets, biker gangs, working the docks etc. However, he hated them. They would not let him evolve as he got older. They signified what he was trying to get away from but visually he would always carry them around. Yes this was before tattoos got trendy and only “tough guys” had them. The taboo of tattoos is no longer but I still think it can be a barrier to ones evolution.

Being liberal I feel that if people want to have tattoos that is their free choice. Whether I want to see people with tattoos, especially if they are covered in them, is my choice and tbh I don't like. I also feel that there is a great fashion for them right now but like all fashions it can pass and then there will be very many who will want rid of their tatoos.

Ohhhh I can see this concept yet I see mine as the story of my evolution. Each of mine remind me of a time that make up part of who I am. Why would I want to hide that? Or run away from it? Those time periods are part of who I am today

I don't like tattoos. I would never get one.

I don't understand people who get tattoos in a place they cannot see it themselves such as a tramp stamp on the back.

Some people with a lot of tattoos look horrible.

On saying that it's each to their own and somebody having tattoos would not stop me meeting them.

What makes you think the ink must fade, some does some does not, sometimes the ink spreads, it depends where the tattoo is the type of ink used and many other things.

I have a tattoo done in 1968 the green, red and yellow inks are a bright as the day they were injected in my arm the black lining is as applied but the words have spread slightly.

After 52 years of this and others I have no regrets, even an oil painting changes over time.

However, being negative and unnecessarily rude about something that you don't find attractive, is a massive turn off.

I remember the tattoos of old the sort of ones people did themselves which look terrible also you can spot a Brit a mile of on holiday normally got the obligatory Union Jack or the badge of the premiere league club they follow from their armchair and the lady’s have the obligatory kids names in Chinese letters probably the local special from the takeaway

but I must admit the modern day tats look good although I’m not a fan of the people who are covered in them but if they happy and it’s their body crack on

Depends on the tattoos I suppose. Some are tasteful and some aren't. As a lover of tattoos (with loads!) I think your comment is kind of skin deep. If you believe that if you met the right person but because they had tattoos you wouldn't consider them then I think it says a lot about you.

. I personally love tattoos but don't mind people who don't have them! Like a big dick but wouldn't rule out smaller ones, don't go on looks - personality wins every time.

I am due to get the lines on one of mine sharpened up as I use foot peels and it's faded it a bit. My tattoos are like anything else in my life, I look after them so they look as good as the day I had them done.

As for the back/tramp stamp comment. I had mine done cos it looks fucking awesome and look at it in the mirror every day.

When I am old and wrinkly, my tats will still look good to me and are likely to look great anyway as modern inks are better.

Good to see Tattoos cause so much debate, even in this day and age. The more tattoed i have become, the less my success with ladies in this arena / lifestyle, also due to much of it being done in Eatsern Europe where they are still more Conservative. I used to go to a lot of rock pubs / gigs, where pretty much everyone had tattoos.

Many of my mates got one done as it was the done thing and to fit in with the crowd.

In that situation it made 'me' the unique one who was willing to be different and stand out.

Getting one to fit in with the crowd would have been the boring, less daring option.

I actually really like tattoos, but could never think of something meaningful to me and didn't want to just get one done for the sake of it.

I've seen plenty of old people with tattoos, and personally I think they look pretty cool and gives the person some personality and a story to share.

If people want to stand out with a tattoo when they are younger, what makes you think they wouldn't when they are older?

Old people don't all have to look like a stereotypical grandparent.

OP if I’m lucky enough to make it to a nursing home, I couldn’t give two hoots about skin colour be it inked colour or not

What holds appeal to me currently in my “youth”

Is the person, the character, the soul...If that human is covered in ink absolutely makes no difference to my view of them.

Now then there’s me sat (one hopes) at 80 and someone asks me about one of my inks then I have a story to tell, I’d rather be the faded inked cover of a beautiful story than just a faded old person with nothing but liver spots to show for it

Love tattoos on certain people, especially men.

Love plain pristine skin as well, especially on ladies.

However its presence or absence doesn't affect whether I like the person or not.
