Is it me or are winks as effective as stevie wonders reading glasses?

Does anyone really care that much that they've been winked at or is it unless it's followed by a message its delete or block? Is there any point to it at all??

Rather a wink than a random stupid friend request. I wink back and then its been the start of communications. I also wink first if i like what i see

I think winks aren't very good on their own. If someone winks and then there's no message I just wonder why they winked. Random friend requests are ignored.

I like winks - they are kinda like smiling at someone who takes your fancy in a pub or somewhere

Exactly this.

You can choose to wink back, message or ignore them, depending on the level of interest.

We've had meets that have started with a wink, so they must work sometimes.

I use to look at who winked at me. In fact it's how a few meets came about was from a wink at the very start. Now though I rarely even look at them anymore.

Id wish winks were used for that initial attraction then if getting a wink back move on messaging, would save a load of time on writing mails and you were never their type anyway.

I use winks as an initial icebreaker and I explain this on my profile. I wouldn't normally follow up with a message unless I get a wink back. Like simeone else has already said, it's like an initial smile when you see someone for the first time. Maybe if more people used them this way it would prevent a lot of unnecessary messages.

I like winks. If I like the person back I will then wink them and possibly send a message along with it.

What I don’t like is random friend request from people. Those I ignore but leave so they can’t be sent again
