Has the who's near feature on Fab ever caused an embarrassing moment?

Nope I’ve come across someone at my work and a parent from child school class but we’re all here for same reason- why be embarrassed

I didn't know you could turn it on or off, I just thought if you were on mobile it was active.

As far as I am aware it goes as low as within half a mile so how would you know who it was

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

I thought it went to 1/4 mile, but even then, unless you're on a desolate plain, that could be a lot of people!

Don't use it and no need to if we message each other like something about our profiles we'll get to the bottom of knowing how close each other are

I live in a small town and mines on all the time. I don’t think I’ve ever spotted anyone local from this site but there’s a few of ‘us’ in the town.

The nice thing about it is a strange sense of ‘shared community’ with the local swingers whether you know/meet or not. Always nice to feel part of a group right ?

I sometimes use it in Supermarkets.

I’d probably panic if someone was actually nearby

There’s a couple live within 1/4 mile of me. They’re not looking for single guys, but they have checked out my profile a few times. I don’t know who they are, or if they recognise who I am, but we’ve certainly never met?

They may think the same thing, wondering who you are, could be a Turn on for them, they seem to show some interest if keep checking you

"Has the who's near feature on Fab ever caused an embarrassing moment?"

Nope.

I only tend to look at it, out of interest, if I'm somewhere across the other side of the country - or abroad.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I keep mine off ever since I had a guy message me saying he drove about and managed to get within 1/4 of a mile and seeing that he made the effort the l_ast I could do was go meet him. Given that I lived in a pretty rural area at the time it freaked me out a bit and no I didn't go meet him either.Ever since then I keep it off.

We tried it on holiday but it seems that it tells you who is near where you live rather than where you’re positioned.

Youd need to change your profile location to make it accurate to you not home

I’m sure if less than 1/4 mile and accurate positioning available, it comes up with ‘within walking distance’ or similar words

I messaged someone ‘within one mile’ and turned out they were from my street…awkward

Living in London, even a 1/4 a mile there's probably too many people to get pinned down.

somewhere in darkest Derbyshire

Used it to block a few that were TOO local, and found an old friend on it (not interested, but nice to know).
