I see it as a time saving thing.

It saves me the time of writing a well crafted message, the person the time of not bothering to read it a just delete it.

If I get a wink, to me its an opening to send a message, saying thanks and go with the conversation from there. Led to some nice meetings

I just mass delete and don’t respond.

Profile also says I don’t respond so it doesn’t encourage engagement for me

There’s also flip to that coin, person puts in a bit of effort to the message only to see it either deleted or not replied to which is why some people wink

So manyp profiles moan about not being original it's hard to send original messages to every profile plus they demand face pics a wink is just quicker and easier, alot less likely to get a response but still a chance lol

I suppose it's how you do or don't respond to them that counts. I also like a wink. But some get bent out of shape about them.

"There’s also flip to that coin, person puts in a bit of effort to the message only to see it either deleted or not replied to which is why some people wink"

yes but thats just the norm after all its a selection / rejection scene ...its not the fault of women that the site is full of men .... so alot of us will not bother with winks if the guy thinks that he dont want to send a message because of lack of replys thats his problem nobody else's .... i can tell you for every 100 messages i get im lucky if one thats not a porn script or sex waffle or hi hows you ..fancy a fuck ..sit on this ill be lucky if one is even swinging related rather than its a sex site innit ... ... its another reason why i block alot to save it being repeated ...

winks will not get anyone a meet im clear on my profile about it and of course that will then just prove that they've not read it anyway or they think they are the bees knees and it dont mean themselves .... ill stick to my process it works for me

We often wink if we particularly like a profile, the photographs it contains, or the bodies in the photographs. It doesn't necessarily mean we want to meet, or indeed that we expect any more contact. It's just to say we appreciate your profile. Correspondingly we're flattered if we get a wink. Ultimately we see a wink as little more than a Fab, or perhaps a Like on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube.

I like it as a soft option to say hi It's not pushy or intrusive and it's just a nice way of saying I like your profile or am intrigued by you and would be interested in chatting if you feel the same way...

I dont always respond to winks, but I'll always have a quick look and then either send a message or wink back If I want to chat.

Really not sure why some people are so offended by them. But it's probably different when you're a single guy and only get a couple of winks a day...lol

Saves writing a well thought out message just to be deleted and lower your self esteem just send a wink and hope to get one back then send a message

Winks are good! Especially when they're from a profile you've been eyeing up for a while It's also less faff than responding to messages from people you're into into.

I’ll normally wink, to gauge their interest, if I get a wink back I usually send a message. I know a lot of women/couples get bombarded with messages so I try get some indication before I send one

I normally wink first unless I think I've got a pretty good chance of getting a reply to a message. Little point in writing individual messages for them to be ignored, my time is precious so I'm choosy.

We like a cheeky wink. If we wink back it means we’re interested, drop us a message!

Or we wink and get one back we take that as our cue to send a message.

It helps to quickly gauge initial interest

We'll wink back if interested, then about 20% will follow up with a message. We've taken time to both read their profile, so unsure if it's classed as time-wasting. We have however had a few meets that started with a wink.

If somebody winks at me I assume that they are interested, I will check the person's profile and wink back if I like what I see.

I wink at people that interest me to see if I get a wink back, if I do then I will send a message....I think that many don't even look at winks though, I look at every one that I receive.

I prefer winks as a guy it saves alot of wasted messages.

So if i was to recieve a wink from someone im interested in then id send a message straight away but otherwise id wink unless im seriously interested in trying meet someone

Comparing a wink with a message makes little sense to me, as the one doesn’t necessarily substitute the other.

Some people feel uncomfortable with the idea of texting someone to fuck them (because it doesn’t matter how well you sugarcoat your message, you’re basically texting people to have sex with them) out of the blue. So a wink can be a good indication that there’s at least an initial attraction and makes messaging less awkward
