How many messages are in your inbox?

I know some people are inundated with messages on here, ladies/couples especially. But let’s put some numbers to it, how many unread messages do you have in your inbox right now?
And some tips for the rest of us, how to get that inbox rocking. |

23, that was after having my profile live for maybe a couple of hours? I’ve worked out message filters now. Probably more than some but less than most?
An interesting opening message, and a profile with more than ‘fill this in later’ and an inkling of a sense of humour is a good start |

Good answer. Profiles are important it’s an opportunity to lay out your stall and make it known what you’re all about.
I’ve heard lot’s of guys use copy and pasted opening messages which isn’t popular. |

It's a pretty normal one! After turning 40 the decline in messages I received was very noticeable. To be honest, I prefer it now that it's quieter. |

Surprising that it was that apparent. People must operate with strict age filters.
They are missing out if you ask me. |

But if I suggest there's something wrong with the female male power dynamics on here and things could be done to improve them, and by extension the scene as a whole, I'm the badguy. |

Anyone care to explain how an inbox can be rocking if all the messages are unread?
It's a fab myth that all women and couples get hundreds of messages.
I also have a couples profile and in 2 years we have had less than 40 messages in total.
Proof of unread messages is used as a measuring stick in popularity contests but not really much use to anyone if they aren't all ongoing conversations.
Anyone with hundreds of unread messages either wants them or needs them.
Those with filters don't concern themselves with how full their little yellow box is. |

Had about 5 messages today all been read and replied too.
We don't actually get inundated with messages. Normally a steady flow and that's it. "
My Dr says a steady flow is just the ticket at my age.  |

I wouldn't say All women & couples get 100s of messages either....It can depend on the profiles & content so I agree with you there as you have proven when you say all ye got was less than 40 msgs in 2 years.... Omg is that all  Seriously?
Some women do get 100s though as I'm sure other users here do too of all sexes depending on the profile content.
I set my filters too but for now they're off....The amount of msgs we receive obviously depends how much time we're online here & how often we post new pics or update status....I've toned down my profile now so I do get less than before ....But right now I have 428 unread....  |

About four from chats I've had on here at some stage. And zero unread.
I keep right filters and can't be arsed with a load of messages or answering them, especially as I am not currently meeting anyone new. In saying that even when I was I preferred to message someone first rather than rely on getting messages. I've never wanted to get a load of messages I learnt that straight away when I joined. |
