Strange conversation in a club

Last week we were fortunate to have the time to go to a club midweek. A single males approached and we were just having chit chat and he then dropped in that he knew me (Mrs). I had no idea who he was and whilst he got our area correct other details weren't. He was adamant and made me feel uneasy until Mr advised him sternly that he was behaving inappropriately and told him to leave us.

It felt like he was fishing for information, starting to think we should have reported him or am I over thinking?

What would you have reported him for ? Wasn't he just trying to make conversation and a connection with you ?

It was the fact he was adamantly saying he knew me and trying to tell me where I worked and even my job title. When I explained it wasn't me he was thinking off he tried insisting I gave him the correct details

Don't get me wrong we welcome being approached and we talk to everyone but this guy wouldn't accept I wasn't who he thought and would not let it drop.

He sounds a bit of a pain. I think I'd look to see if he is on here and have a go at a preemtive block

Doesn't sound like he read the room or picked up on your body language at all. Yeah, that would be annoying and as your other half done, I would tell him to F off.
