Yes, it's true, the UK is set to roll out the world's first gonorrhoea vaccination programme through the NHS in England, starting in August 2025. This initiative aims to combat the rising levels of gonorrhoea infections, which reached a record 85,000 cases in England in 2023.

It would seem there are a number of Vaccines out for various STI's and some on the final stages of research for others.

Certainly agree there. Just heard it on the news and the amount the NHS believe they will save with this is astonishing.

I'd not considered any cost savings from it; that's an added bonus. We've been very fortunate with the benefits from vaccination. With the rise of antibiotic resistance this could be a huge benefit

If I remember rightly, it's actually the meningitis vaccination. The vaccine is only about 30% effective against gonorrhea but is definitely a step in the right direction.
