err to keep in contact with friends you have made and to still engage on the forums
and second to stop people like yourself messaging them asking why they are still on the forums and not meeting..
+ they can..
+ to some of us its actually quite nice, if someone you know and like is having a good time and is happy..
quit your whinging and maybe one day youll have the same status as these people, you are moaning about
by the way..i answered this knowing full well all my filters are on. i am meeting, but at the moment it seems my happy demeanor is attractive and i am what others are looking for...  |

Then they've served their purpose!
We have a similar thing in our profile. We have plenty of friends we've met and keep in touch with. We're still going to clubs.
The clue is in the words. They don't want to meet anyone else. It's really not rocket science.

Op for many on here its about more than the sex. So they tell people to try and stop people messaging... To share their good news and so as not to mislead anyone x |

If you've made friends on this site there's no reason why you should have to ditch those friends just because your circumstances change.
And let me answer your question with another question; Would you prefer it if they didn't display these words, you messaged them and they either didn't reply or replied saying "Actually I've met someone and I'm no longer actively looking for meets"?
Them putting that on their profile acually saves time for the both of you. |

Did u update ur status telling everyone about it? "
Not our status but our profile header yes, same thing really just more permanent. Still don't see why it matters though. |

Don't misunderstand me, people are free to put what they want, and no one has any reason to judge, I've just seen it so many times now, I just wondered why, cause if I was in that situation I'd just hide my profile and be done with it. |

Ah but then you get the why have you hidden you profile questions. Maybe they are just letting their friends list know, but as there isn't an option to have status update appear to just the friends list everyone gets to hear.  |
