Yes, expensive when directly compared to the price of normal antifoul, but you add up the cost of 10 lift outs, 10 sanding down, 10 re-applying antifoul, it saves a lot of money in the long run.

"We're also considering a boating experience this year and looking at options, does anyone have advice for beginners"

If you want a lot of fannying about and forever stop/start type activity, hire a narrowboat on a canal system with locks and stuff.

If you just want to cruise around enjoying the sunshine (hopefully), hire a cruiser/houseboat on the Norfolk Broads.

Definitely, I recently talked about organising a meet up for swingers who have boats - there are plenty of small islands where we could meet up, have BBQ and just fuck our brains out. Would be a nice thing to just set sails there and spend an evening or two, just anchor somewhere and give it a go.

Problem is advertising this properly - there isn't even a boat subcategory in this forum or anything.

"Indeed, but my question was more geared to best locations and do and don'ts of hiring a canalboat xx"

Best location would be somewhere one the water, hire a boat that floats and don't hire a boat that doesnt.

My advice: Just find a swinger with a narrow boat you can go on for free - it's cheaper and more fun.

But I am biased. I like sailing boats a lot better.

Young couple here interested in meeting boaters. We like getting out on the water but don’t own a boat of our own. Aside from that we sometimes are out walking the towpaths so hit us up if ever you are in the Midlands area and would like a social meet.

I'm looking to spend some more of my free time cycling canal tow paths. I've done part of the Monmouth & Brecon and a bit of the Caledonian canal and really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of Robbie Cummings as well.

I'm Solent based, although my boat isn't ideal for swinging, I have dropped into some of the naturist beaches with it before now.

Bi cester

I passed a narrow boat yesterday on the Ashby. I got a wave from the girl in black bra and red knickers. I reached the end of the canal and headed back. I slowed right down passing this boat, only to get a view of her giving a BJ. Nice couple, they both waved at me. Curtains wide open. As I am creeping past, I am still waving, but now I'm waving at a very sten looking matronly figure glaring at me. I carried on my merry way, with a big smile on my face. I will remember that boat name, and look out for it in the future.
