Im going Bangkok the beginning of April and then want to go various of places, looking for recommendations where to go and potentially maybe find a travel buddy or couple. I'm looking to spend a month out x |

Avoid the four southernmost border provinces of Narathiwa, Pattani, Songkhla, and Yala. People there are killed during sporadic terrorist attacks by Muslim separatists.
Also avoid the Myanmar and Lao boarder areas where there are occasional gun battles between drug smugglers, the police and soldiers.
Thailand has compulsory conscription of young men into the armed forces.
