I'm going to Hanoi for 5 days at the end of October, en route to Australia. Then 5 days in Ho Chi Minh City on the way back home.
I checked out GetYourGuide for the top things to do. Halong Bay and Ninh Binh are already booked for Hanoi, and Mekong Delta plus Cu Chi tunnels for Ho Chi Minh City.
You can't go wrong for accommodation, I booked all mine on Booking.com, they are so cheap!
Have fun. |

From Hanoi take a day trip to ninh binh, then to halong bay ( stay on catba) I’d probably stick to the north or south for 2 weeks as quite a short time could possibly also do hai gang loop if you moped (do as a group) or take a 3 day trip to the sapa then down to Hanoi to chill out and have some lazy days ( could fly from Haiphong ( ha long) down to da nang then stay around Hoi an and da nang for a few days then fly back to Hanoi - or the train - takes a day though and you have to book in advance as it gets full!! Or train down and fly back |
