Depends what your after, Koh San road and surrounding has some decent budget ones, I stayed in Rikki Inn which was good for price.

Other than that there's loads along sukhumivit Rd, stayed in the grand millennium which was 4 star and quality

Sukhumvit is the area which would probably suit your needs.

We stay with family in a condo on Soi 4 (Nana), opposite The Woraburi Hotel.

We have stayed at The Unico Express on Soi 3 that is well priced and has a pool too.

Some rooms are internal though so make sure you have a view.

Unico will put you on the canal system and you`re in Pratunam for the clothes in minutes.

Soi 3/4 are dead opposite and are ideal for The Skytrain too.

You can access anywhere from here.

You get less hotel for your money in Bangkok, swimming pool hotels are more.

For years we stayed in The Golden Palace Hotel Soi 1.

Just ask if you want to know more.
