We are thinking of going to Thailand and want to know what is the best time of year to go when it's hot. Which are the best resorts to take in. We will def go to Bangkok but might take in a second resort too but not sure where? We were told to just book a couple of nights in a hotel in Bangkok in advance as there are loads of good quality cheaper hotels where can get when we get there - is that right? Can you recommend any good and interesting places we should visit or should try? Any info you give much appreciated.

Cardiff

We are likely to go for 3 weeks over Xmas and New Year. Weather great then.

Phuket is lovely.

Bangkok is hot and sweaty. Just overnight and head for the coast!!

thailand is hot all year round..its trying to avoid the rains...so best to travel dec-april...you may experience a downpour but it will not last long

plenty of tours in bangkok (spend at least 2 days there, gives you chance to see the sites experience bangkok, then head to resort)...if you haven't prebooked anything your hotel usually has contacts of travel agents/guides who'll show you the sites.

as for beach resorts...depends what you like...pattaya is full on in your face find anything you want, then you can have quieter relaxing resorts such as koh pi pi etc...

thailand is a fantastic place to visit...got something for everyone...enjoy your holiday
