What are security checks like on boarding ferry at Hull? Are you allowed to take food and alcohol etc

I've never had a problem on North Sea ferries or the Italy to Greece ones I use a couple of times every year. However everything is packed into my overnight bag and I'm not boarding laden with supermarket carrier bags.

I have been checked by customs entering the EU in my car for fresh food items.

Food is fine but wouldn't take full blown meal, crisps choc ect fine,

Alcohol is a no they will confiscate it on site and pour it down drain.

Majority get checked at customs
