Druridge Bay, Northumberland.
Jump to: Newest in thread
Druridge Bay is a stunningly beautiful, sandy strand with an area traditionally and legally used by Naturists. As mentioned there are dunes where one can shelter from the breeze but also prying eyes.
While one can be openly nude on the open beach and dunes but do exercise discretion when playing. |

"Wife and I planning a day when weather warms up abit, we have all intentions of playing while there but only with each other, we don't mind anyone watching but does this happen up there"
Yes, this scenario happens. Most are respectable and will give you enough soace but if anyone gets too close for comfort just tell them to back off.
I usually try to get up on Mondays and Tuesdays, hopefully get to see you both up there. |

So I thinking of trying Nudist beaches and camps for the first time.
I no its obvious to take your clothes off but would it get frowned upon ifor I went clothed for a few times the gradually start to take clothes off each time I go.
Sounds like a pretty stupid question but not every has odyssey confidence at first and foremost blokes it'd stands out a meven if we accidentally get aroused which is.bound to.happen to most blokes the first few visits. Or am I just overy thinking shit haha |

In terms of druridge beach, yes you’re absolutely fine to take off or keep on as much as you like in the naturist section. Take things at your own pace, and enjoy the scenery!
Tando - the naturist club were also very empathetic to my nervousness on my first visit - and I disrobed at my leisure over the course of the afternoon.
You soon get used to the nudity though, and it’s a great feeling. Enjoy |

"So when you park up at the what3words someone kindly posted. Where do you go? Left or right as you walk down to the beach xx"
where you park up (it's a small lane where people park on the verge all the way up) there's a circular turning point at the end of the lane. The path follows a small burn to the beach then turn left. The unofficial nudist part is from here until the next burn crosses the beach, you do tend to get more people towards the northern burn.
Not many people stray onto the beach as the dunes are big with loads of sheltered patches
Hope this helps |

I see a few requests for more info so here goes:-
If you want to park at the north end, there is an access road just opposite Red Row. Follow this road down to the end, you'll see cars parked. Walk through the turning circle and on to the path. Turn right and follow the path for around 100 metres or so. There is an access through to the beach on your left where the path turns to the right. If you look straight ahead as you pass through the access you will see the area of dunes about another 100 metres ahead of you. The what three words for this area is handbag.enjoys.captures.
This area is mostly used by guys but couples also use it.
If you carry on further south from this point for another 100 to 150 metres or so you'll be at the area more commonly used by couples. There used to be a ledge just up from the beach which people used but this was washed away last year during a storm so I think most just use the beach now so you may want to bring a windbreak to give some privacy.
If you'd like any further info feel free to message me and I'll help if I can.
Enjoy and hope to see some of you up there.

"Highs of 14°c this Wednesday 🥶 nooooooooo lol xx"
Looks like it's the breeze coming in from the North east, so off the sea, which is keeping the temperature down.
Usually when it's like this, the areas at the back of the dunes are well sheltered and still quite warm.
I'd still go and check it out. |

"O really? Thanks so much for the advice
If that’s the case I’ll definitely give it a try. Hopefully get there late morning so should be ok xx"
Good, you need to toughen up a little now that you're a northerner
Not sure if I'll be there on Wednesday but if I can, I will be. |

"Does it get busy on this nudist beach "
It can get fairly busy but you can never tell.
I've gone on really sunny days expecting it to be rammed and only seen a couple of other people. Other times I've gone expecting it to be quiet and there's been dozens. |

"Rather misty there this morning, no sunshine yet
Hopefully it'll clear soon. I was looking forward to getting up there early this morning but just waiting now."
Sun is burning off the clouds now nicely in Newcastle. Wish I wasn't in the office this morning... |

"Just north of a tree stump which was washed up on the beach xx"
No idea where that was, didn't see a tree stump anywhere.
Not to worry though, as long as you niw know your way around and had a good day.
Maybe bump into you next week. |

Great pics!
I’m still to make my first trip of the year - hoping to go next weekend for an afternoon
Was at Embleton beach yesterday (clothed!) - very blustery.
Anyone tried or recommend Ross Sands for naturism? How does it compare to Druridge!

"It’s a week since I was there, just watching the weather for a last minute venture xx
Looking at the weather forecast, Friday looks like the best option before the rain arrives!"
Up for going, what time would you plan for |

Think it might be a bit nippy Friday. Next Tuesday looks good though. |

Next week is school half-term holidays, so I'm unlikely to be able to get out...
I might still try this Friday (tomorrow) if it's not too cloudy and the breeze is light. |

Following this with interest. I visited a nudist beach in Spain many many years ago and have always wanted to do it again, love that we have this place on the doorstep so I hope the gods of weather, opportunity, and confidence align this summer so I can make a trip… |

"Hopefully we will get there soon for our first visit this year.
Are most couples sunbathing on the beach since the shelf in the Dunes washed away?"
Only seen a couple of couples this year so far and they've been in the north end of the dunes, the area that's normally used by blokes. |

"This one right?
///darling.procures.against"
Yup, that’s the turning circle. My understanding is that if you walk from there towards the beach, then turn and walk north, that’s the area you need to be in. |
