There are some other people here who have worked in the industry. My friends dad was a big male performer but is now retired.
For what it's worth, women are the highest paid, with guys being easier to find and paid more basic fees. Having outstanding skills is ideal for a guy - performance under stress, big crews around, long hours and more. The industry is under threat due to massive competition, including from free sharing sites, driving income down, so prospects aren't great.
There is some potential for niche but in demand material - though others can copy successful ideas and have everything setup already for it.
If I was you I'd gain experience in as many fruitful ways as you can, which gives you a taste for it plus material to give evidence of your skills. I do small shoots and having reliable performers is key to prevent wasted shoots. Do it for the experience more than the money is the best advice atm. |
