Any American small business owners or employees have any thoughts on this new federal mandate?

Not wanting to automatically see the bad in things, but will this not in some cases cause owners to lay people off?

I would imagine it might create more competitive conditions for jobs too. If the owner is going to have to pay 15 bucks, they will not overlook what they once would involving punctuality, service and loyalty to the business itself.

This potentially creates some serious dilemma as those who really want to EARN the money will work hard to do so, and those who have grown to expect handouts will will be looking for government programs as that will continue to be more appealing than earning a living.

What will this change? More money paid to hard working employees, more money taxed by the government, and more free shit for the capable, but lazy....perfect.

Everything will go up in prices. You do not do this when so many unemployed. Revenue for businesses are cut now because of the pandemic. We have small trucking company that picks up waste from local business our overhead is hurting had to lay 2 drivers off because the majority of our work evolves around restaurant waste removal. Local business are worried about it because they do not want to cut more employees to just make overhead.

We are thinking about more automation. It is more cost effective.

Not only will prices go up and people get laid off but you will see more machines in restaurants like you do the stores. You won't have a waiter or waitress. More importantly is that you won't get a W2 for doing your own checkout.
