When this all started behavioural scientists predicted public dis-order and large-scale civil disobediance.

Ive just seen on Sky news youths telling the reporter they are going ahead with their parties tonight.

So far, even though its been a total cluster f--k ,Brits have not joined other european countries who are now seeing rioting and street protests.

With our economy heading for a depression and mass unemployment,

If these "leaked" reports of whats happening tonight is true, do you think people (especially the young)have had enough?

Sky news are extremely good at getting people to say what they want to hear to make newsworthy shite.

Kids can have parties tonight ..up till Thursday. However, after that, if they do then they ought to be dealt with not just 'spoken to' by the police.

Look, let's face it if young adults don't do what everyone else is doing they need to be put right surely? Thats the responsible thing to do isn't it ?

Unfortunately, just because people 'have had enough' it doesnt make covid go away.

I presume the current £10,000 fines will continue during the lockdown.

People have had enough OP. I'm sure the population was saying the same in 1940. But you have to battle on until the job is over. Some people get it and others don't. Those that don't are dealt with. Just how it is.

According to official data from last nights briefing the virus IS spreading the most in younger ages, maybe as they don't have many if any symptoms it's harder for keep track, which is one of the main reasons for them to follow the rules more than any group. I guarantee if it was a virus that mainly affected the youth of today, then this generation would be the first to curl up in a corner and retreat into a Netflix hole for six months.

If you think back to the initial lockdown we had protests about this and that in London, and I expected the worst but we have been pretty good on a grand scale but we still have too many not following the rules and restriction for want of ignorance to the virus or to the rules.

Except they are not asking the population to battle on, they are asking them to hide away.

A bit like if the government had asked in 1940 for the population to hide in their houses until the nasty Germans had gone away. If you venture out then people could get hurt and there might be too many casualties for the hospitals to deal with.

They did, it was called curfew and blackout and they even had special police. What's your next point then ?

"We are still comparing a world war to a pandemic?"

They’re obsessed with fighting a war they know it’s impossible for them to be asked to fight.

Yes, in a form. It was called evacuation. Lots of children and women moved out of cities likely to be bombed and moved to the (safer) countryside. It was a huge sacrifice, lasting years. It mentally scarred many children for life, those who didn't know their parents when they returned, those who were abused or neglected by foster parents or those who didn't want to return to abusive/neglectful parents. It was exactly the same as shielding the vulnerable, just took a different format.

I think perhaps the comparison is the public response to the national crisis in different generations / times.?

Newcastle upon Tyne

History tells us that each lockdown will get harder to enforce. Doubt there will be mass rioting but people will just ignore the regulations and have their quiet parties at home with friends etc.

One or two parties will get out of hand and make the news but most won't and no body will be any the wiser.

In a Sparkly Dress

There will be parties every night till thursday, If we could be more proactive in the anti body testing for the 16-30 age group, then we would have a better idea of how much its blowing through them, rather than speculating the infections they are causing as track and trace is no good now it's overwhelmed

The app has been set at the wrong level silence it began too, another triumph for Dido Harding and Serco.
