Just seen the horrifying news, the new variant 'BS Strain' has just been released, it's available on every high Street now,

It's easily spotted, it's appears as a green hazy mist, just like that NHS TV advert from last year!!!

We need another vaccine against it. Where are the big pharma companies when you need them? They must be running low on money now that a new wave of anti vaxxers are turning their noses up at the 4th, 5th and 6th boosters for the previous dozen variants.

Sounds like a job for captain Pfizer

Yes I believe we are now up to...

2 x 4 x 10 x 4 x 3 x even more transmissible than the thing that was very easily transmitted. We now have to stand 4km apart from eachother. And catch it by touching anything or breathing anything but pure canister o2.

Everytime there's an increase in electrification on our planet there's been outbreaks of flu symptoms. They switched the antennas on in wuhan and at the games in 2019, almost immediately people came down with flu like symptoms, same in Italy, seattle new York and on the cruise liners. Emf radiation is harmless to biological life.

If that's the case why do people get sick and recover, surely that is a constant exposure? Why isn't there a circle of death around every tower reducing in severity as you move away? It's not like people are living in Faraday cages.

Would people take the pill if it was a case of "you're probably still going to get pregnant but it slightly reduces the chance you won't"?

I think people would seek alternatives.

What percentage of the UK population routinely gets the flu vaccine?

We used to get vaccinated as a family over ten years ago when they mostly restricted who could get it

We got it cos my youngest had been born premature and had damaged lungs. The vaccine was supposed to help him through the winters but he was still admitted to hospital at least once or twice every winter despite that.

When we stopped getting the flu vaccine, his hospital admissions dropped. Odd that.

Winston Is there anyone who isn't exposed to some sort of EMF daily? It's gotta be rare?"

Absolutely. Anyone anywhere near anything electrical will be exposed to EMF.

Get in bed with the leccie blanket on, exposed.

Turn on the telly, exposed.

Sit in front of a PC, exposed.

Walk past a streetlight, exposed.

The idea that EMF is responsible for flu or flu like symptoms is nonsensical.

The entire world would be suffering all the time.

It's just daft.

Truly sterilising vaccines are very rare. There was *hope* that the Covid vaccines would be sterilising, and the initial data seemed to support that, but they were not tested for that.

The job of the Covid vaccine is to reduce the odds of severe disease or death in the acute stage. Even wild type still does that into the descendants of Omicron (although how long that'll hold isn't clear).

Your average joe does not know this. They were fed the same story for months "get your jab, save granny", as much as people claim that was never the narrative it clearly was. As far as a growing majority are concerned the jabs don't work. Most of the people I know who are fit and healthy stopped at 2 or 3, mostly because they still got covid before and after the jabs with very little difference to outcome.

The masses don't care about stats or how much of a percentage it reduces your risk. If they did people would have made a bigger effort to exercise, eat healthy and get a proper amount of sleep.

I'm in no way suggesting they are right, right or wrong has no bearing on it though if that's what people believe. There's a reason empowers of Rome appeased the mob as best they could.

I agree it's a political nightmare, all because of lack of clarity. They tried to play on people sympathies to increase vaccine take up. The lack of truth from the offset has increased the misinformation and bullshit. The pandemic has been handled terribly all round

Wholeheartedly agree.

I don't trust the authorities either at this stage. I've sought my own information from early on. I found scientists who critiqued the vaccine studies. (I looked up the details of the vaccine in the phase 3 trial before I agreed to be a part of it)

I know it's not the done thing to think of "my side" as distrustful of the authorities, but I am. The people who trust authority are vaxxed and relaxed - little or no masking, life basically back to normal.

I've suspended every activity in my life where I can't wear a respirator, and that's my long term plan.

"I'm in no way suggesting they are right, right or wrong has no bearing on it though if that's what people believe.

I've suspended every activity in my life where I can't wear a respirator, and that's my long term plan."

I come across as very anti vaccine sometimes on my posts but im far from it. I like to play devils advocate more than anything else. I got on board early for the vaccines. I'm asthmatic, had vulnerable family, I did little research. By what I had read it seemed to stop transmission, I didn't want to risk infecting someone vulnerable. I also masked up despite the anxiety it causes me. Social distancing wasn't an issue cause I'd been practicing that for a lifetime

I stopped at 2 jabs because I'd had covid twice, before and after and it wasn't anything I hadn't dealt with twice a year since I was a kid. I've had worse chest infections. I still try and keep my distance. I did ditch the mask as soon as I could though. It wasn't good for me.

I'm all for people making their own assessment of risk and acting accordingly.

That's fair enough.

I think this is a particularly painful part of the process where we as a society become increasingly disillusioned with authority.

I've gone in a different direction to you based on my own assessment. I hope I'm wrong about my assessment.

Unfortunately you likely aren't. The genie is out of the bottle now. With how fast it seems to mutate. I don't think it'll ever be under control unless they work on a newer vaccine that stops transmission more. Whether or not that vaccine would be widely taken goes back to the lack of trust convo, there's almost zero faith in our government here after the party scandals and America seems to be even more divided politically

My concern also extends to long term health problems from exposure.

Wearing a mask or respirator gives me issues too. But I'll keep protecting myself. All I can do now.

I'm holding out hope for a truly sterilising vaccine. Trials are being done

The other option is for vaccines that produce immunity against the virua generically, including known and potential future mutations/variants.

This doesn't alleviate any lack of trust in any government but could be an easier sell, especially if it was administered with vaccines for other pathogens.

Anyone noticed if people are starting to wear face masks again? Today I saw at least four people wearing masks in Sainsbury's. I know it's not many but it's four more than the last time I was in the store. They must be getting paranoid again x

Maybe people are starting to notice that a hell of a lot of them are getting ill again. And whether it's covid, or "just" flu, cold, rsv, smallpox, tuberculosis or whatever, maybe people are starting to feel that it isn't fun being ill for half their lives. And realised that while they were wearing masks they didn't get ill. And that really, given the choice between mildly uncomfortable wearing a mask on their public transport journeys and shopping outings, or being very uncomfortable 24/7 for a few weeks, the mask is actually not so bad...

I certainly don't mind wearing my mask again on the bus or in shops. Small price to pay for our health and the health of others x

There is a covid surge just now. I have it. It’s crap. I’ve had to go back to bed.

For me this time it’s on a par with proper Flu. Severe head cold and draining fatigue.

I do view YouTube, but upcoming movie trailers or pop culture videos.

I do not follow the doctors, but I do watch the news, remember the political sounds bites (news speak), then look on the forums for related threads to those sound bites and read the posts, try it and see for yourself or find an old thread and see for yourself.

I think it derives from the pub curfew the government put in. Yes, it was silly. It has nothing to do with anything now.

I suppose we should also talk about the protective antiviral properties of cutlery or a Scotch egg ("substantial meal" or something like that)?

Or we can recognise that governments make compromises in situations like that, which have no bearing on reality and how citizens navigate it.
