"No tips but has anything changed in the last few days. More tired, extra stress, run down ? Have you seen a doctor?" I tend to not go to docs , no nothing changed, it's always there, just last few days it taken over so to speak.

"Use the app a soft murmur.
Also get your hearing checked at the docs, they’ll give you white noise generators- it takes time but it trains your brain to listen to a different sound. "
I listen to white noise on iplayer etc, but not heard of what you're saying, I will try that. Thanks |

Suffer really bad with tinnitus
Had meners disease about 10 years ago, basically blood starvation to inner ear, causing like vertigo symptoms,
Took me 2 months to learn to walk again properly,
Specialist said nothing they can do for it,
Was told never to work at heights again
And don’t ride motorcycles anymore,
Well no way was I giving up my bikes,
Started out on push bikes n kept falling off them lol
But I’ve learnt to get on with it |

I've had it for years from too much loud music & drumming without ear protection. I hate silence so I tend to always have music or something as a distraction, even at night. I know it'll never go away |

Suffering really badly with mine at present, you have my sympathy.
Left ear is worse, years of gunfire and raves/clubs.
Spine to a hearing clinic about the Lenire device but it’s very expensive and only 50% chance of success.
I find that if I’ve had a particularly stressful few days and my neck is stiff then it makes it worse. There is a lower skull/neck massage that can be done by yourself.. I book in for a proper sports massage and that helps.
Frowned upon as illegal but been told that some party chemicals can help to dull the noise for a while.

Im very similar to you….A life playing bass without ear protection, don’t like silence due to intrusive thoughts (caused by PTSD) so always have something on (tv/radio/podcast/spotify) and now the tinnitus is starting to dominate…..

Have a hearing test, can be associated with hearing loss. As long as its on both sides it's not a concern as such, but if it's suddenly got louder or changed in nature, disturbing sleep or associated with stress/anxiety,pulses with your heart, one sided or suddenly louder in one side then it needs referred for.
There's many types of noise you can try to distract, resound gn do a good app to help. |

I get pulsate tinnitus occasionally but only after exertion..
to answer the other question above. Mine is 24/7 and loud enough to be there over background noise. I tune it out after do many years but it’s always loud at night. |

There's been several forum posts on tinnitus over the years and some of them might be helpful if you can find them.
Reducing stress can be helpful. I have it 24/7 and hate it. It gets worse for me, when exposed to greater noise levels, especially if for extended periods of time, so I avoid it.
Exercise helps me a lot.
Potentially get your ears checked and hearing |

As soon as you think of it it gets 'louder'. The volume is always the same but distracting your mind from it shifts your attention from it.... |

I've found temporary relief from symptoms by using the finger flicking technique on the base of the skull.
Put your hands up to the back of your head, middle fingers meeting each other, and place your index fingers on top of your middle fingers. Then snap the index fingers onto the skull.
If you go to youtube and search "watch?v=YyT9ZwWy5Jc" you'll see a chap demonstrate.
Works for a little bit for me. |

I developed tinnitus after long term (6 weeks) intravenous antibiotics treatment - a side effect apparently. Some days I manage to tune it out and forget it, but others the ringing is so loud that I have to put my ear phones in and play music. There is no cure and no single diagnosis for how it is caused. You have my sympathies and I hope it disappears soon. |

I have tinnitus constant high pitched noise 24/7 and have had it for about a year.
Had a hearing test which showed hearing loss at high pitch in one ear which I suspected.
Referred to the doctor, saw him and referred to hospital for a more complete check up.
The waiting list is over 12 months so I've been stuck with the problem waiting to see the specialist hopefully in 2 or 3 months time.
Most of the day I can ignore it but sometimes it is just there and very annoying. |

Worth getting it checked out by a dr. There is a small chance it can be caused by brain tumor. I have intermittent tinnitus. It’s usually worse in winter and is caused by mucus in the inner ear. I’m lucky I have low level background hum but manage to tune it out most of time. |

I’ve had it since lockdown. I don’t know if it was Covid, bodged tooth extraction or what but I’ve had nerve problems on that side of my head and the high pitched noise seems to be a permanent feature.

I've had severe tinnitus for 23 years now. I have meniears disease. Don't ignore it. I now wear hearing aids and am partially deaf. I can't drive due to the vertigo and generally don't go out alone. ( which is why i wont meetsolo either) So please don't ignore it as it can get worse. Cutting out alcohol and salt helps. Medication helps and keeping my blood pressure at a good level helps. Goes without saying, don't smoke. Meniears doesn't get cured sadly. But can be managed.
Best thing is to not worry ( so see gp) and the more toy think about the tinnitus the worse it feels at times. There's a sickening high suicide rate amongst sufferers. |

Many years ago, I had exactly same symptoms and was initially diagnosed with Tinnitus. After a few days, despite feeling better...it was recommended I had further routine tests, which resulted as positive for mini stroke (TIA)
Maybe you might consider a routine test?? |

I have 2 types of tinnitus now. Have had the ringing for years and then since covid in 2022 I’ve had a humming in top of the ringing that comes and goes. Second type got worse when I had an abscess in my tonsils and now is there almost permanently but only on one side.
Given it’s coupled with recurrent vertigo, I saw my GP and awaiting a referral to ENT to investigate as it may be Menieres. So it’s always worth seeing the GP. But nothing works for me either now, but there’s some stuff on this thread I’ve not tried so defo going to give it a go so thanks |

National library of medicine study shows tinnitus has increased twofold since 2020. It would be interesting to see results comparing the vaccinated to unvaxinated. I've not suffered but many of my close friends started suffering within a couple of months of being vaccinated.
Could there be a connection? |

I have read and I personally believe it's inflammation and seems to be from toxins. I had it for years then after cleaning up my diet it disappeared and the only time it's came back in the last 5 years was when I was painting (as in decorating the house) and then it was gone again and hasn't returned |

Currently sat in waiting room for my audiology review.
Let’s hope that this referral can find a way to give me some relief.
For some other points above.
Had tinnitus before Covid, before vaccination.
Toxins have little to do with it. Damage to nerves and hairs much more relatable.
Even if they can tame it down a level or two it would be an improvement. |

Do you have pain with it? What you describe sounds like trigeminal neuralgia. There is a specific neuropathic medication for it. Obviously the GP will advise accordingly. |

The list of things that cause tinnitus or have tinnitus alongside is endless, they do not know what causes it truly only what we see as symptoms alongside, luckily they are getting somewhere with research though so fingers crossed one day there may be a resolve for it |

I’ve had it since late teens but suddenly it became much worse, from being able to ignore it at first to going to the doctors having had no sleep or rest for days. I used to drive 30 miles to work with the radio so loud just to try and drown it out and have some respite from it. I was given white noise in ear generators however I found them to be no help. I have moderate hearing loss now however I was denied a hearing aid because they said it would amplify the whistling I suffer. Personally I have found nothing that really helps however I’m convinced exhaustion makes it worse for me. I hope you find something that works for you and good luck.

I know it sounds daft but try sound frequency therapy. Various sounds around 7500mhz may help. But it does require brain training too, focus on the frequency and try to block others.. almost like meditation. I use various frequencies to help me sleep. |

So… I’ll try anything to relieve my symptoms.
Looked into the Lenire machine that zaps the tongue. Only a 50% succes rate to see any change apparently.
The advert popped up all over Social Media for the ‘Reliever’ device. Only £30 approx so thought I’d give it a try.
No good at all. Save your money.
It’s just a collection of random parts on a pretty box. Total con.
Ahh well, will continue with my consultation and ENT docs. |

Mine wakes me up if I leave my phone on at night. It’s the only time it is stationary and in earshot for a sustained period and plays havoc with my ears. When I wake , realise and turn it off, I can physically feel the problem easing almost instantly. |

Once I accepted it y stoped stressing about it and managed my diet and lifestyle better it became less of a problem. |

New Medication for anything?
A bad infection / Antibiotics?
Stress, diet, work?
I use PrEP Event Based. I do get the Tinnitus volume going up with PrEP and separately, Viagra.
Depending on location (original poster gone) you can self refer in some parts of England to Audiology Clinics free. Always get Hearing Test

Had mine since I went to watch the Sutan’s of Ping when I was 17!!
Relax, regular massage. You’ll learn to live with it sounds shit, but if its not a medical condition that can be solved..
You just have to retrain your brain, and its bloody hard but totally possible.
Also stress exasperates it no end (doesn’t help when it stresses you out!!!)
Another method is to have tmg massage, its a specific nerve in your muscle inside your mouth.. alot of people who suffer from it with no sound damage clench their jaw without realising and it effects that nerve…
And yes i’ve heard micro dosing shrooms helps with lots of ailments effecting the brain. Not tried this yet…
Its shit but its possible to dim the fucker out |

My tinnitus came on when i hurt my back, had accompanying numb fingers.
Went to a spinal manipulator and that helped in a big way.
Have to do a few spinal visits a year to keep tinnitus at bay but it helps a lot. Finger numbness vanished after a couple of visits.
