From a female partner perhaps? If you were female I'd say too much carbs especially sugar but often men get it passed on

See a doctor but in the meantime wear cotton underwear, go commando as often as possible and avoid getting too hot and sweaty.

Could be a sign of Type 2 Diabetes.

Pop along to your doctors for a check up.

In the meantime, you could also speak in confidence, with a Pharmacist, who is fully medically trained as well as having expertise with treatments.

Are you seeing a partner who might reinfect you? Let them know you're having problems too

Book a gp appointment

If it’s recurring you may need a different course of treatment - as may any partners.

Also worth seeing a doctor or pharmacist to differentiate if it’s jock itch or thrush - both cause similar symptoms but caused caused by different fungal infections

Not sure where you’re getting the symptoms. If it’s your mouth, do you use an inhaler? I’ve heard recently that a relative, newly diagnosed asthmatic at 55, had to change his inhaler as he kept getting really bad oral thrush. It’s a known side effect apparently.

If it’s your cock, I’d say a partner, soap reaction or diet. It’s often a sign of a low immune system too - are you run down?

Pop along to your local sexual health clinic and have a full check first. If all clear see your GP.

I think if it’s a reoccurring issue you need to pop along to a local gum clinic to get to the bottom of it

Folk saying to see the GP - more chance of seeing Lord Lucan riding Shergar down Lytham high street than seeing a doctor round here!

Yeah antibiotics can bring it on. Or transmitted from a partner. It's awful sore. A pharmacist might be able to advise if you've to wait for a GP.

Pharmacy team here,

If you've had thrush more than 2x times in 6 months its recommended to get yourself to GP for Diabetic check. Some people are prone to chronic thrush. Definitely get yourself to the GP. They can run bloods and other tests to confirm.

"I keep getting thrush,why?"

Where is it showing up? This will be a huge clue.

Mouth, genitals, bones, skin and nails.

I wish thrush was the worst pain I have ever had. All I can remember is it itching.

I have found coil fitting, LETZZ treatment, spinal bone marrow sample, colonoscopy, endoscopy with no sedation and childbirth all worse.

Endoscopy with no sedation that's barbaric!

I had it with a numbing throat spray but it doesn't last long enough and I started gagging it was pretty awful but not really painful

Buy some canastan cream, but your partners will need to treat themselves too or you keep passing it to each other. Also cut out sugar in your diet...yeast infections feed off that.

Yes I have had it with the throat spray too.

Without it was hideous.

Toothache and drilling teeth without pain relief is something, as is migraine and kocking the bed post twice with the same toe.

"I keep getting thrush,why?"

I'm anaemic and recurrent thrush is one of the reasons my doctor tested for it.

As a diabetic I get it in winter when I'm not as active exercise wise.

Have it at present, gutted as people keep asking for meets and I have to knock them back.

A took the gas and air pipe out of my mouth to talk, when having my colon inspected and yes the pain relief soon wore off, a couple of breaths later it was working again. OW!
