I need some advise / support. I received some rimming recently and it was great fun but I had some cut around my anal area due to constipation. The person who rimmed me had some gum infection but I didn’t see any blood coming out of their mouth or any visual signs of blood around the mouth. Should I be worried about any chance of HIV transmission through oral (rimming). |

Best thing is to get checked out. I would suggest maybe be more careful in future but up to you of course.
Is sexual activity more important than your health 🙅♂️
I know what I'm choosing every single time. |

Go on the SH24 website or ask your GP. Or go to your local clinic. The only way to be fully sure. As far as I can remember it doesn't have to be blood on blood, it is bodily fluids in an open wound, . But if you're concerned go get professional help. And within 72 hours of contact with the other person. |

I think the most important thing is to not have any further risky sex in the mean time until you know for absolute certain you haven't contacted anything.
Don't beat yourself up about it but please think about others and act sensibly.
No judgement here my friend I've been there. But if there's any doubt you must her tested and not let desire minimise the potential implications in the heat of the moment. X |

Couple of reassurances OP.
Most people who live with HIV in the UK, know their status and are on medication. An effective medical regime means their HIV status is undetectable so untransmittable.
Look up U=U for more info.
If you can get hold of the sexual partner you're talking about ask them about their status and you can do this with other partners in future.
I'd suggest finding a HIV charity that covers your area, contacting them and getting advice, support, guidance so you can understand risk, medication like PReP so you can enjoy sex with others as safely as possible.
Dont forget the other STI as well and get regularly checked / tested so you take responsibility for your own sexual health.

You can get post exposure preventative treatment , PEP, within 72 hours (ideally within 24). So if by recently you mean within that time period, establish if your sex partner was positive and their viral load if so, and it may be a possibility if the doctors think it necessary. It is available from sexual health clinics, A&E snd Walk-in clinics. |

Why would you allow someone to rim you knowing tou had open wounds on the area? |

Book appointment at 56 dean street and get checked out to ease your mind.
Though in the west uk / USA there has been zero recorded cases of an hiv transmission via anal rimming alone Even with sore gums
There is plenty of data online from medical providers going over the reality risk and inhibitors in saliva / air etc flows of blood needed
Just get a test for your peace of mind. Dean street use the more advanced tests for early detection anyway as they cater for the sex industry extensively which works on tighter protocols than civilians do .
