You have to remember also that most businesses are now shutting down. Those who can’t work from home, unless they are public sector or logistics, haven’t got a place to go to work.

Just spoke to someone else
Boris has not closed every work place, basically he’s closed all none essential retail shops so only food shops are open. So my place of work is still open and I’m to carry on as normal but don’t go anywhere else other than straight to work and back unless I need something essential from the shops. |

Germany didn't hide away. They were vigilant. They tested fanatically, traced contactees and enforced measures early on. At this point they have one of the lowest imfection rates in central Europe. They are reporting that their infection rate is flattening out.
In China one should note that only a tiny percentage of their population is infected. Yet despite their huge population they have relatively few new cases. |

This is going to be the norm. Lockdown for a few months. Then letting people do some sort of socialising followed by another lockdown period and continue repeating. Will keep the numbers down to hopefully let the NHS cope. This will continue until a vaccine is produced in lRge enough amounts for the population |

There is a fear amongst academics a second wave will occur.

Yes, I agree with you. The PM had all the data to evaluate the evolution of the virus. The situation in Italy had created statistical data that could be easily studied. He thought about economics and finance. Like the BCE and the northern European countries initially. But when the president of the Italian republic spoke to the BCE remembering that the economy and finance were created after the Second World War to serve European citizens. Not the other. No older person should die in a democratic state. If this is done, citizens will lose confidence in the political system and democratic representation. And there is a risk that citizens who trust multinationals or companies more than democratic states. And from the day after this very strong declaration, the BCE rushed to say that it supported all European states, Italy in the first place. Here in the UK this mess hasn't passed. Finance before citizens. Now we are shifting gears but very calmly. Now it's late. The virus does not wait for incompatibles |

Can we please spare a thought for all of the workers still in the risk zone.Ann-Marie is not a key worker in our eyes but her employer has decided that they are.So much so they had a letter of agreement passed at 9.31pm saying that they are fine to stay open.We're really worried for her safety as they have no sanitise, gloves or proper ppe and are front line customer facing staff. On the note of tragedy
The country and indeed world has rightly gone into a lock down
Spare a thought from those non recovered from other recent disasters currently with no homes to lock down
Our flood victims and world wide flood, earthquake, forest fires
This must be the damn icing on a pretty shit cake
So all those in the word where this lock down is a huge second kick in the proverbial tender bits
No groups intentionally missed I'm sure we can think of many but the UK flood victims did seem a bit recent where this must hurt |

So im working in front line and i must say for all this idiots on here who post that they are still going dogging and meeting and tbh most of them dont look really healthy. You have to understand that with your meet you can get infected when you can avoid that . Its not enough that they are not many beds and respirators in hospitals but you have to think that you take a old person bed or a person who need that bed just for 5 min of fun . Lets be serious and accept the measures the government input now . Its the best thing with this lockdown . So dont be stupid stay home. As we risk the life for you working in this kind of environment so you can be safe at home . Your paid to stay home Wo do it . Watch tv , series play video games , masturbate do whatever you want but dont play with other people life |

When you catch a bug your immune system kicks in. Our little army fights it. If part of the army remembers it from a prior exposure, it knows how to fight it before the disease takes hold. If never seen it before, the intelligence part of the army records it so it will be able to fight it quickly next time. This is immunity very simply put. |

Immunity is happening all the time.its up to your body if it fights it or not.
If you have a good immune system, not much will happen, however if it was weak then most likely you will suffer and less likely you will die |

What I meant, as a response to the tweet I quoted, was that sufficient 'herd'immunity cannot happen until we have a vaccine and that is not coming soon. The point of 'hiding away' from the virus is to give us more time. |
