no fire but there is a vapor that looks like smoke.

to children it looks like smoking and is just as influential as the real thing.

I'm all for the new ban.

I agree totally with what you're saying.I've got the tshirt.it used to be gum when I gave it up about 13 years ago.I found just stopping without these nicotine substitutes was easier in the end.

it's a bit harsh by the government to propose the ban I guess since its got to be healthier in general.it's just the in public bit that needs to be resolved.

my 3year old grandson has sat at our table and has mimicked smoking a sliceof carat .nobody in our house smokes so he's obviously seen this in the public.

it's good that your trying to give up though.

So cos yojr son has seen someone smoking it should be banned. Ooook en. Its not even a real fag. You cant smell the smoke either. The government wanna wake the fuck up. They wanna ban them cos they are losing millions of pounds in bloody taxes off fags but want people to quit

So if you going down that route do you think drinking should be banned? after all its the biggest killer in Britain by far, I have never seen one youngster smoking e cigs, after smoking for 30 yrs e cigs have been a god send, there is no smoke its vapour there is a massive difference. Im sick to death of being told what you can do cant do its starting to play on my tits. (hubby)

Oh, and there's income tax, VAT or other duty on the sale of everything, so let's go the whole hog and ban everything, eh?

Surely as the ecig has pretty much come about as yet another thing to help people stop smoking then surely expecting people to use them only where they would have gone for a real cig is not too much to ask.

I encountered someone who sat next to me in local takeaway last weekend puffing away on it. Would she has sat there doing it with a real cig...no so why should she be allowed to do it with an ecig.

In doing so she clearly looked to be more reliant on the ecig than she would be on real cig as she would have not sat there next to me in takeaway puffing on a real one.

I am an ex smoker..30-40 a day and stopped and my last one was 2006.

I don't think it's too much to ask for people to go outside to use them as they would have had to do if a real cig. You see people that would have had to pop out for cig puffing on these things all day long ...that is NOT helping you give up.. The biggest hurdle when giving up is breaking the habit..

I just don't get, why all of a sudden they want to ban it? Something must have sparked it off.

'Just as influential as the real thing' - Who told you that?

Don't mind providing a link to that if there is one do you?

This is the best bet of getting people to quit and yet they won't to ban it.

You should treat your e-cig like a normal cig before the ban, use common sence and morals.

Don't walk around a supermarket smoking it, don't smoke it in the middle of a restaurant, smoke it in a child free pub (they should be anyway).

They don't all look like normal cigarettes, you don't hold all of them like a normal cigarette and most decent retailers won't sell to non smokers or kids.

We should ban booze aswell as kids see people drinking and think its ok.

The above point about showing yourself using an E cig in public is true. Kids see it and they may well want to copy their adult peers though I've yet to see a kid use one. And the other point that stands out is that smokers are using e cigs to have nicotine anywhere they like. (take away outlets, restaurants, busses etc) Is it another example of PC or a public health issue? Is it wrong to eat in public? Does that promote obescety in kids? Alcohol too. Same argument? Now I,ve given no opinions on this just promoting the debate ... so dont shoot at me fab peeps,

One of the reasons they are looking to ban it, is its not a regulated or proven product. Cigs have been around for years and thier downside have been scientifically proven many times. Vapours and oils etc seem cleaner as they are smokeless but there haven't been many cast iron studies into what your inhaling. So until someone does find out what your replacing the coffin nails with be careful. You could be taking in something worse than the cig dudes and dudesses.....

Who knows the truth?

you will always get the odd one that thinks they can smoke in supermarkets etc, it dosnt warrant a total ban though, but if you think it does warrant a total ban then you must by all logic warrant a total ban on drinking right across the board, as theres always the odd one that will drink and drive. Alcohol is the biggest killer in britain by far ban that

I dont like the vapour from the e cigs but I applaud anyone using them to give up fags. I was lucky I gave up puffing with the help of a Crafe Away. A plastic hollow thing that looks like a cigarette. No vapour no smoke nothing. The government should be pleased that people are using these to give up fags.

Sure

'to children it looks like smoking and is just as influential as the real thing'

You wrote that in your post at the top.

You say it as if its factual and you have read it written by a so called 'expert'.

If so, please could you share that link.

Is that comment opinion or factual with research to back it up or simply your personal opinion.

Id bet my last penny that these things bought from correct retailers who self regulate their products that infact they are much safer than a cigarette.

Anyone have the full list of ingredients to what goes in those?

Most decent e-cig retailers at least have ingredints on their packaging.

I thought the whole.point of banning smoking in public places was because of the risks of passive smoking?

I assumed there wasnt the risk of this with the electronic version.

the original post was asking for opinions and that is what we have here.same as what yourtalking it's your opinion.we do not need to post links to facts for opinions.our you too would need to do the same on your nicotine saving crusade.

There are five ingredients in vape juice.

(1) Distilled Water

(2) Propylene Glycol (PG) - The FDA considers this safe. It is used in baked goods, medicines, cosmetics, soap, etc.

(3) Vegetable Glycerine (VG) - Also used in baked goods, sweeteners, and a filler in foods.

(4) Nicotine - You know what this is.

(5) Flavouring - Artificial flavours like what would be in your can of drink, lollipop or whatever.

Now someone post a list of the ingredients in a cigarette. Go on, I dare you.

Guess what? It can't be done.

There are over 4000 different substances in a cigarette and counting.

So let's ban E-Cigs. That's clearly the way forward for those fuckwits in Cardiff.

Cardiff

"One of the reasons they are looking to ban it, is its not a regulated or proven product.

Id bet my last penny that these things bought from correct retailers who self regulate their products that infact they are much safer than a cigarette.

Anyone have the full list of ingredients to what goes in those?

Most decent e-cig retailers at least have ingredints on their packaging.

do you have a link to prove your point?"

Been away for a few days.

Thankfully someone has posted a link with the ingredients, my supplier has that on the packaging but I dont want to advertise here.

We can only guess that kids see this as a good idea to smoke, we don't know for sure. You could call that a guess.

The best bet is to ask as many vapors how they feel health wise since changing what they smoke/vape.

The tabacco industry is paying so called experts to come out and be negative towards e-cigs.

I feel healthier now than I have for a few decades and speaking with others who have changed they feel the same.

OK. So we ban smoking in public places. Great idea! No doubt in my mind its a good thing (and I am a smoker). So some one invents a smokeless alternative for those wishing to give up smoking. Great idea. No passive smoke and no apparent harm to anyone else. (not proven) So the Welsh assembly in their wisdom ban the public use of them. E ciggs and patches are helping so many quit the habit, so why ban their use.??

You'd be better addressing that question to British American Tobacco and Imperial Tobacco. They're the ones greasing the corrupt palms of the tossers in Cardiff and Westminster.

"Now someone post a list of the ingredients in a cigarette. Go on, I dare you.

Guess what? It can't be done.

There are over 4000 different substances in a cigarette and counting.

So let's ban E-Cigs. That's clearly the way forward for those fuckwits in Cardiff.

You can always buy a stealth vaporizer. I don't have one but am a fan of the one that looks like an asthma inhaler.

Personally don't care.if they ban them but perhap they should just change them so don't act like a cigarette.

The light up ends and such.

I like that they have been related to.an adult dummy but not suggesting they look like that either but there has to be a way of just making them so they aren't associated with smoking.

Shish E Cigs are good. I used to smoke 40 a day for 40 years could not give it up. After vapering I haven't smoked for 9 months. Once you vap you won't want a cig as the smell makes you sick. People will not start smoking cigs if they ever started on a e gig.

my mother smoked from the age of 16, 20 fags a day all her life..when she was diagnosed with a COPD in 2011 the doctor told her she had to give up smoking and he prescribed e cigs...so she took the both of them right up until 4 days before she died, aged 82!! so in my opinion they don't help you to give up but they are addictive
