That could be it. Maybe try again, while you are on a different wi-fi. It might work

Stops you verifying your self so go on another wi-fi with a different IP address

The site will have logged both profiles using the same connection.

You can share in the same room, just one of you will have to use 3-4G rather than wi-fi
