With most european travellers now back in the UK and the reported increased sale of tents I think we are going to find it difficult booking into most campsites when they lift the lockdown.

What do you guys think?

As soon as isolation is lifted, we are heading to Pembrokeshire for a coastal tour, before heading to Scotland to complete the North Coast 500 later on in the year in our motorhome xxx

Exactly this. We are still hoping to use our ferry tickets to France in August as we think it will be much safer than playing sardines in the UK.

Lets hope France opens up to us in August, we may do the same. Normally in September we drive down to Spain

Would you comply with the 14 days of quarantine on your return or have the government changed the plans on that?

"Would you comply with the 14 days of quarantine on your return or have the government changed the plans on that?"

In order for us to be able to go the Foreign Office needs to change their advice (which currently strongly advises against going), quarantine needs to be lifted or school opening delayed in September as we are back a couple of days before school, the risk in France needs to be similar or less than the UK as our annual travel insurance renewal specifically excludes any claims related to Covid-19 and, finally, France needs to be open enough to be enjoyable without too many restrictions on us travelling (we don't use campsites so the aires need to be open).

So, hope is still there but slim.

They should stop everybody from going into europe till its clearly safe to do so even if it means we after wait till 2021

Cant believe the amount of impatient selfish people who are clearly thinking of them selfs and wanting to go back into Europe

So why is taking a considered and sensible approach to managing risk selfish?

The risk is currently higher in the UK than most of Europe. The daft quarantine policy is a prime example of closing the door after the horse has bolted.

Well cause its selfish people thinking only for them selfs wanting to go into Europe

Surely its would be better to stay away from Europe till it's all been cleared

So how exactly does going to Europe when they have very low levels of infection cause you to think its selfish?

A lot of politicians, their advisors and the wealthy will want to go away in August to their second homes or rented villas abroad. So I think the issue will be sorted for then.

We are only a stones throw from his Dads house. We love Barnard Castle, it has some very happy memories for us. Its a lovely little country market town. As for Mr Cummings, he is the exact reason why we all must keep ourselves safe. He is amongst the thousands of people in this country who just doesn't give a F@#k about others.

We'd pitch our tent in Barney anytime, wonderful place

It's far safer in most of Europe than it is here though! Infection rates in Spain and France are much lower than the UK.
