Picture Rules

Could admin provide a little clarity over what their definition of 'identifiable' is in relation to pictures posted on profiles containing others?

Upon clicking to upload - the following rules appear:

1. The photo must be of you or your partner (you must have permission from your partner). Uploading web porn will get you banned.

2. Everyone on the photos must have been aged 18+ at time they were taken. Anyone uploading pics of under 18's will be reported.

3. It's OK to have other people in the photo too as long as they can't be identified.

4. The photo can't have another site's watermark on it.

Point 3 clearly states "as long as they can't be indentified". However pics have been rejected that contain no more of another party than a chin and lips - yet a quick browse of most fabbed and newly uploaded pics highlights major inconsistencies. The most suprising is when you search pics uploaded by men, containing just women - 3 pages of reults crops up with images purely of single females being posted on male profiles - with no males in the shot!

A little clarification would be useful as to how much/little of a face needs to be hidden before a shot is accepted or rejected as there appears to be major inconsistencies across the site.

And before anyone says "report a pic if you think it breaks the rules" - i've just done exactly that for a dozen in 3 minutes! Surely tightening up the rules and the initial acceptance would cut down on later admin dealing with reports?

(Posted this incorrectly in site help first in case you want to remove it!)

We make a judgement on if we think someone is identifiable, if in doubt a fully blanked face is advised

If you see photos that break site rules report and we re review. With 10000+ photos added each day mistakes will happen but we always look to correct

That's really my query - the judgement.

I see pics every day that have black stripes over eyes, slight blurring or just even those adjusted so that just the face below the eyes is visible - none of which make the person in the image in any way identifiable.

Others seem to slip through the net, including singles of the wrong sex on profiles, and full faces of those other than profile owners - clearly identifiable.

A lack of clear consistency makes it hard for those posting pics who have taken the time to crop/edit to 'abide by the rules' to understand the sheer hundreds, if not thousands that are prevalent on the site with way more of other parties visible and identifiable.

As Admin said, report any pics that you think break rules.
