Alicante Spain, and Cork City Ireland

The most important thing is enjoy yourselfs there are 1000s of beautiful spots and you won't see them all. Use your heart stay when it feels good move when it feels good.

And if course - West Cork is not a place but a state of mind.....

I suggest the Singing Pub near Downings in Co. Donegal. Amazing scenery and you can park your camper up for the night and try some great food, drink and local talent

"Any recommendations we are touring for a month around the coastline from south to north "

I’m here for the next 5 weeks in mine but going North to South.

Just had 4 days in Donegal. All of Inishowen is beautiful. There is an aire in Buncrana but it’s quite tight for parking, with no privacy. If you drive around the corner and follow signs for Tank & Skinny’s you can park on the wharf and it’s quiet ( I had 2 meets there during the day).

Culdaff Beach is also stunning and very peaceful, can park near the football pitches.

Have fun and we might crossover at some point or we might have already.

Spot on, I could have spent a fortnight there.

The tourist information at Buncrana has so much advice on places to visit.

"In cork tomorrow then starting the waw "

I’m around Leitram, Sligo and Roscommon for the next 4 or 5 days.

If you’re heading north there’s a great free motorhome stopover at Glencar waterfall with clean toilets that are open 24/7

I’m in a 7.65 metre motorhome and plenty of privacy and room to manoeuvre.

WAW starts in Kinsale which is worth an overnight stop itself, maybe too late already. Assuming you've arrived with the tanks full and empty, overnight parking is tolerated on the lower road along the water, go close to the hairpin bend where it's wider and quieter, overnight parking at Charles Fort too but not very level.

Route from Kinsale to Clonality has a few campsites, Garretstown House and Sextons, but they'll be eerily quiet if even open.

Clonality has a campsite near the town, I don't think there's any overnight parking tolerated around the town but you'd probably find a spot at Inchydoney this time of year.

Think there are campsites between Clonality and Rosscarbery and between Rosscarbery and Skibbereen but again very quiet this time of year, overnight parking may be possible at the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery and there's a campsite close to the town in Skibbereen.

Overnight parking spot close to the village in Ballydehob, take a left after you cross the bridge coming into the village and under the old viaduct.

Schull is nice but no campsite and don't know of overnight parking spots.

Big campsite in Barleycove but don't know if it's open yet, you might be ok parking up in Crookhaven overnight this time of year or else at the visitors centre carpark at Mizen Head.

I don't think there are any campsites or parking spots I could recommend until you get into Bantry where there are two Aires, one at the West Lodge Hotel and one at the Marina.

Campsites in Ballylickey, really nice but no dogs if you have a pooch on board, and Glengariff.

Aires in Castletown Bere town and at the Golf Club, and another further round Beara Peninsula in Eyries.

That's the Cork bit covered, I'll post later on Kerry.

A town near you

Sent you a couple of links of 3 of the most spectacular places in ireland all within 30 minutes of each other. The obviously it will take longer by the time you go from 1 to the other to the other and maybe stop to admire the most stunning views from them

Dublin

Spectacular scenery on the northern / western side of Beara, up into Kenmare which is a little gem of a place, no campsite, people used to park overnight along the pier road which was fine when it was an occasional couple of vans but it got ridiculous over covid with vans staying for weeks at a time, the locals got pretty pissed off, if you arrive late and leave early, you'll probably be ok but keep moving if it's busy. There's a motorhome service bay at the Circle K service station on the Killarney Road.

On to Sneem, you have an Aire, more like a campsite but campers/motorhomes only, highly recommend.

Caherdaniel has 2 really nice campsites, you're on the Ring of Kerry so things might be picking up a bit mid April.

Waterville has no campsites or Aire, not sure about overnight parking.

Coming into Cahersiveen, friends and family love Manix Point campsite but I've never been. There's a campsite on Valentia Island too near the ferry and an overnight parking spot close to the bridge.

Glenbeigh has a touring campsite in amongst the static parks but Cromane, the carpark beside Jacks is a nearby alternative for overnight parking.

No campsites or Aires and no parking spots I can recommend in Kilorglin, Miltown or Castlemaine. If Killarney is on your to do list, turn off in Kilorglin.

Heading along the WAW, Inch is a popular surf beach, there's a basic campsite or you could overnight in the beach carpark.

On to Dingle, there's an Aire and Campsite. The Conor Pass has been mentioned, drive up from the Dingle side and park on the left before the top and have a look, don't go over the top in a motorhome, head back to Dingle. Slea head loop is nice to, you'll need to go in a clockwise direction in a motorhome. There are a few spots you could overnight around the loop.

Castlebar

I'd recommend making your way up through Connemara and into Mayo. Day trip to Clare Island is highly recommended and Westport is an amazing town. The scenery in Achill Island is also a must see. I've heard there have been basking sharks in Keem Bay recently.

If in Sligo Knocknarae car park is excellent for peace and quiet through the week. A bit sloping but once you get over that it’s beautiful.

On from Dingle, there's an Aire in Castle Gregory, may be a bit quiet this time of year but it's the often underrated side of the Dingle Peninsula. In Tralee you have the Woodlands campsite right in the town, not sure about any overnight parking. There is parking at Fenit pier a few km outside Tralee.

Heading north from Tralee, Banna, Ballyheigue and Ballybunion are all dominated by static caravan parks, not sure if there are any touring sites these days and I've never heard of any overnight parking in these areas.

The Shannon Estuary is a bit non descript, there are only a few places you can even get close to the water. If you're getting the ferry from Tarbert, there's overnight parking at the marina in Kilrush, Carraigaholt pier further west is another option with some food and drink options nearby or the carpark at Loop Head Lighthouse if you're looking for a quiet overnight spot with water on three sides.

Kilkee is the next place along the route, people overnight in the triangular carpark at the southern end of the strand regularly.

Strand Camping in Doonbeg is an exceptionally kept small campsite about 10 minutes walk from the village.

There's a field for campers at one of the pubs in Miltown Malbay while Lehinch is popular with surfers, can be hit and miss trying to find an overnight parking spot. The Cliffs of Mother visitors centre is between Lehinch and Doolin but parking is expensive, don't think overnight is possible.

There are 2 campsites in Doolin, overnight on the pier may be possible, there are ferries to the Aran Islands from here.

I think there's another touring campsite a bit further along the coast in Fanore but other than a few laybys along the coast, that's pretty much it for county Clare.
