Do you often change your mind about plans?

Like make them then can’t be bothered as they approach

North East Scotland, mostly

Sometimes, yes.

More commonly I get excited and make too many plans than I have capacity for, so have to change them.

What about you, OP?

Yep, I get that feeling a lot. I always make myself go through with the plan, and it usually turns out to be enjoyable.

I always follow through, but I know I'll regret going before I go.

It's less about not being bothered and more about losing confidence in myself to do them if that makes sense

We have such busy social lives we have to have a shared calendar so that we don't get double booked.

No, I think I'll leave a decision late until I definitely know if I can but once I say yes, I'm pretty much locked in and pretty happy about it.

I rarely make plans to begin with and always cagey when people start planning. Unless it's with my kids, I'm fine with the kids

I get terrible social anxiety

My friend has invited me to her hen weekend in Liverpool, I said I would go but not stay over. I plan to drive down and drive back before they get leery

(I don't drink)

If it is a big social thing then I will often just decide not to go because they are not really my scene and no one will realise I am not there anyway.

If it is a smaller thing where my lack of presence will be noticed then I will turn up if I say I will.

I agree to do things when I’m in a good mood, then hate myself for it when it when I actually have to go.

Somewhere

All the time... Seems like a great idea when plans are made. Seems like a shit one when a wet and miserable Friday night rolls round, and I'm spending a fortune to traipse around pubs and hating it.

If I make plans I stick to them.

Trouble I have is actually saying yes to plans.

Same. I hate letting people down. Which is why I stick to plans even when I’m no longer feeling them

I get this unpredictability of my mood sometimes. Sometimes I make plans for weeks or days in advance. And I was in a headspace or mental place at the time that made the plan exciting. Then suddenly I’m not. Various factors. Socialising is really difficult some days. It’s really exhausting. Work. Kids. So mean suddenly I can just be like ‘eurgh I wish I could stay in and sleep’. I don’t. Because like everyone says- I’ve made plans. I’ll probably enjoy it. I don’t want to let people down. But I do get a ‘eurgh, I’m not even feeling this’ sometimes.

I try not to make many plans because something always seems to get in the way. When I do make plans, I really try my utmost to make them happen. However, sometimes, life gets in the way.

I've learned that you can't be disappointed if you didn't have anything to look forward to in the first place.
