Is that a thing in here?

Single males pretending to be a couple but then only Mr talks and interacts because Mrs is too busy?

Only male photos sent, asking to meet for a social on his own....

Huge red flags for me.....

Or is it normal??

It can happen but is against site rules. Report any users who may be breaking rules.

I read that as meals pretending to be a couple and it made me think of the really small portions you get of items that say it’s meant to feed 4 when the reality is it’s a mouthful at most and would never feed 4.

This.

Sometimes there was a couple and they split.

Sometimes there never was a couple.

Either way, if you suspect its just a single guy and not a couple then report and block is the best advice.

No point in wasting time and energy on someone you have concerns about when there are plenty of well verified, obviously real couples out there.

It's quite sad , I had a "couple" reach out to me a few weeks ago. Only he could meet because his wife is in hospital LOL

Yep it's a thing and becomes easy to spot with their status updates. Oddly they tend to post a lot of female pics on the profiles perhaps to compensate?!

It's very common unfortunately. Local updates always has couples profiles where the Male is available to meet, never as a couple. We've had messages from couples profiles asking if we'd like to meet the Man. Their approach never works yet they keep trying.

It should be 'avoid at all costs' instead of a mere red flag.

Pathetic. Especially those out of relationships, using pictures of their unsuspecting exes.

Often just to bypass the filters.

Pathetic, I repeat.

I never interact with couples, but I think I'm learning now.

Like people are saying, yes, sadly single men do pretend to be couples and often the red flags are visible as been advised already. However, do careful thinking a profile with only 2 verifications over 2 years old is "fake" or even suspect. People do take breaks from here and of course no one is obliged to actually meet. Plus some people do meet but don't verify, its all their choice. So that's not a good indicator on its own.

But as others have correctly said any doubts just forget and move on, no point wasting any time!

Over the years 90 percent of the couples I've chatted with, it has been the female half leading the conversation.

In many cases I've never spoken to the male half and on a few occasions they admitted that their husband or partner was no longer involved or had never been involved at any stage.

These were all well verified profiles but a lot of the verifications were as a single woman attending socials with no mention of their other half.

I've had messages in recent months from "couples" who were in reality a single woman.

There were no details at all for the male half and every verification was as a single woman.

Apparently admin had changed these profiles because they said in their bios that they met with a male friend.

In doing so though admin have inadvertently created profiles which are able to bypass age filters as all these women were well below my lower age filter and would not have been able to message as a single woman.

I also know of a local couple who had a very public falling out and she then advertised for a replacement.

Within a couple of weeks she had another male partner and with just a few minor adjustments on the male details they carried on as a couple and continued to display the 50 or 60 verifications the original profile had accumulated.

Anyone meeting them based on those verifications would naturally assume they were meeting the man mentioned in them rather than a complete stranger.

There are lots of variations in the makeup of profiles so it's not just men hiding behind couples profiles.

In my experience it is rife! … my suspicions are almost always proven right! Sometimes it is bloody obvious… sometimes it takes a bit of time!

I treat all with a degree a suspicion until they prove otherwise … and has always stood me in good stead to date!!

There are probably more "fake" couples than real ones. I agree with the majority of comments that have already been said.

Not all are fakes.

Vicky very rarely talks on here because of the amount of time wasters. So 99.9999999% of the time it is Chris talking.

We are a genuine couple

So, SO many of them.

They are really easy to spot once they are in the DMs because they always tell on themselves.

Male (Me) does all social admin and Fab work, BUT we will only EVER turn up as a couple. If one turns up without the other then it's a red flag that it isn't us!!

I have a couples profile with my missus, but when she isn't with me /in the mood, then I use my own profile. However the reality is that as a single guy, it's damn near impossible to get a conversation going, especially when people don't want to talk because they have 1000 other men messaging.

I get why some people do it, but if you are looking for just yourself, then use your own profile.

Surely, if they're talking it is more likely to be the woman pretending to be a man?

A friend joined with his partner he asked me what to expect, the first thing I said was to expect at least 50% of couples profile to be single men.

Big red flag is only pictures of the female as she is fictitious and can't take pictures of the male.
